Great video, thank you so much for this in-depth review I am a podcaster. I currently shoot my videos on my Nikon D610. It does pretty well but that I have to manually focus all the time has been so much of stress. I can’t be very creative using a manual focus. I’ve always wanted a camera that I can just sit in front and film myself without having to break the bank and today I just got myself the NEX 5R by accident. I took a bit of risk because I haven’t heard of the camera before and before I purchased it, I dashed to KZbin to see if I’ll be making a great choice. On my bus home still curious I did the right thing and this video has just boosted my confidence, especially with the comparison to my dream ZV-E10😂 I can say My spade just hit a pot of gold. Thank you so much for taking the time to make this You sure have 1 new family member on KZbin. I love love it❤

Great video! I have an a6300 and the menu system on the NEX seems more intuitive in many ways and I think I'd prefer it to the various tabs each with 9 pages of scattered settings ( I think they only improved it in the a6700). Also once the truth that "A camera is just a means of using a Lens, same as how a phone now is just a means of using apps", the differences do not seem as important. I think the lack of viewfinder is the only real "minus", the menu is ok.

Totally forgot about the viewfinder. I’ve been using the ZVE10 lately and totally forgot, but yes having a viewfinder when taking pictures outside in the sunlight or you just want to compose your shot and actually see it without glare helps a lot. I think it’s less the menu but more the menu graphics that make it feel outdated.

To be very honest with you, I only use the Sony app when paired to my a7iv for GPS location for where I took the photos. I typically don’t transfer photos via app, I just take the memory card out and plug into computer.
