@brenndon1 RESPONSE: Simply stated: The VG 20 is the body only - NTSC video system. The VG20H is the same camera body and includes an 18-200mm SONY E-mount NEX lens. The VG20E is the same as the VG20 - but PAL video system. The VG20EH is the PAL version camera body plus the 18-200mm zoom lens.

@MegaPonlok There is no internal memory on the VG20. However there is no record time limit outside of the capacity of the memory card you are using. It is an AVCHD camcorder so for a 16gb memory you will get 90 minutes, 32gb card you will get 180 minutes.

@motionman0 The adapter you will need for the two lenses you have will be: B&H # MTNIKSEM This will allow you to use lenses with or without an aperture ring. As for timelapse, there is no internal intervalometer on the camera so timelapse is not a feature.

Yes. This camcorder model does the touch to focus with your finger once touches the spot on the screen to focus in 3 secs. There is a feature option Camera/Mic>Spot Focus>Manual.

If you mean to do a 'pull focus' like shot - then despite what Chuck says, yes it can. I am a VG20 owner and use it very frequently. Nevertheless, you may wish to clarify what exactly you mean, so that your question can be answered more accurately. Incidentally, the VG20 manual (aka user guide) can be downloaded. That will answer you questions better I think.

PAL is usually used outside of the U.S. (in certain parts of Asia especially). NTSC is used predominately across the United States and in most professional industries.

I am almost ready to call you guys and order this camera. But I need to ask a couple of questions... 1.) I will be using my Nikon lens. One lens has an aperture ring the other does not. You can use any E-mount lens adapter you want with this. So you can you use old film lenses like the old Soviet ones that are 1100mm if you don’t mind manual focusing.

love this camera too, but you didn't mention the 5.1 surround mic. And Sony could enhance the firmware. If you attach a mono-mic its routed with the same level (and therefore the same headroom) to both stereo-tracks. please Sony: give us a little more control!

Thing is way too big to have to hold in one hand for long esp if put long lens on then way out of balance and the last thing I want to do is buy friggin' lenses...I bought nxcam hxr-hr3d1u smaller form factor and 3D. Gotta think it through if going to have to lug it around and deal with it, smaller is better and lighter more easy to deal with and take in and out of what you have for a case on you..think streamline operation!!

Never get DSLR for Video work. Although the quality is fantastic the limitations on 10 to 20 mins is restricting, Infact on the sony ALPHA series you dont even get 10 mins.... it will say SENOR OVER HEATING ALLOW CAMERA TO COOL , which doesnt go down well half way through the Vows at a wedding... VG20 Rules for the Price
