It connects to my Honda Civic. Go into system settings on your car device and choose bluetoth setting, these are the Android settings not the interface settings. I had the same problem as the setting was set to connect to SAVED bluetooth devices. Uncheck this setting in the bluetooth Android settings and it will connect.

ipod shuffle works completely...never need to do anything just leave it plugged in...

Good choice. Much better than wireless and phones to be honest . The real Audiophile. For the new folders. Place all music in the sd card and inside memory the new stuff. It's easy then. And the clear audio is terrible . It boosts everything in a terrible way. The best is the eq that has a great eq. Go to the page of Mr Walkman that you can hack the 55 into a 10 band eq and changed the tone of music

I used work in the car trade and I found all cars are different when it came to the Sony Walkman. Some systems connect via Bluetooth easily and some don’t. You can use the USB cable if you’re stuck. Another thing, the SD card would not show up on some systems but the unit storage would.

Nw a 105 has battery issues, it drains pretty fast. NwA45/55 are much better than 105

Hello Friends! I too, am now able to get the NW-A55 to connect to a 2016 Honda Civic. Here are the steps that worked for me: 1. Honda: Home Screen -> Settings -> Audio -> Bluetooth -> Bluetooth Device List -> Add Bluetooth Device -> Continue 2. Walkman: Settings -> Bluetooth: Connect to/Add Audio Device 3. Wait for the Honda Screen to Fail to show the Walkman. 4. Honda: Tap the "Phone Not Found" button; a prompt now appears on the Honda instructing you to select the "HandsFreeLink" device on your Walkman, along with a unique identifier. 5. Walkman: Select the "HandsFreeLink" device that now appears in the menu, confirm that the identifier matches with that displayed on the Honda. After that, even thought I got contradictory messages (Walkman says connection failed, but Honda says device successfully added), I just selected the HandsFreeLink device a few times on the Walkman and now it's working! Happy driving~

my infiniti G37 has an option to connect a bluetooth music player but it still will not recognize the NW-A55. i'm super bummed out. since i have navigation i also don't have an 3.5mm aux jack for analog audio. instead i have a usb connection that recognizes apple/android but it can't seem to read the sony walkman files. i'm really not happy about buying a $200 music player for the car, that doesn't seem to work for no reason. i wish i had seen your review before i bought this thing.

There are many factors that affect the battery life, such as the type of files you are playing. IIRC, playing low bitrate MP3s will give you the longest playing time, while playing higher quality files, like FLAC, will reduce the playing time.

​@@RevengeOfMoctezumaI just upgraded my memory card, going from 128gb to 256gb. Before upgrading I checked and found that for cards over 32gb you have to use a microSDXC card, which can go up to 1tb. Also, it looks like it has a much faster read and write speeds since despite the larger capacity with my new card it takes about the same amount of time to create the library as it did with my old memory card.

I put about 30 albums on there and I still had like 124.3 in space cause I gotten a 128gb. Why is that?? Shit for 128gb I should be able to put more than 30 albums on my MP3 player

@@91Definite so you out 30 albums (how much space is that total?) And your SD is almost filled? I'd suggest restoring the Walkman and wipe the SD. Then see how much there is before moving the music again. Could be a bad SD.

When you insert the memory card into the player you have to format the card in the player. That will erase the card and put some folders and configuration files on the card. As far as loading music on the card it needs to be put into the MUSIC and/or LEARNING Folders. While the music may be visible on the player in other folders, some items like Playlists will not be visible if they are not put into the MUSIC and LEARNING Folders.

You can Bluetooth ur iPhone to NWA55 and it will "upscale" the music to a much more higher quality sound. Just enable DAC mode

@@alifftudm95 do you use a cabled earphones/headphones on your car? if yes, you should look for a player that has a bluetooth receiver mode or you if don't want another player, get the fiio btr5 to pair it with your smartphone. it's a tiny bluetooth DAC/AMP with both 3.5 and 2.5mm outputs, can use it as a bluetooth receiver or wired DAC thru usb-c to usb-c cable

I just got a new A55 and had a 64gb microSD card with a lot of music already on it. Fortunately the A55 was able to read the card without my having to format it and start from scratch So far I've added new cuts only to the SD card but having what is really less than 13gb of internal storage is handy if I want to load it up with anything. Since the player integrates internal and card storage seamlessly it's nice to have. I even don't even mind the player updating its database whenever it powers on. It's basically looking for additions or deletions and takes only a few seconds to complete.

Took delivery of this device today. The NW-A55 won't connect (or even recognize!!!) the bluetooth of my Dr. Dre Beats Solo Pro. I'm so mad I could spit nails! REALLY liked the A55, but there's NO WAY I'm using a wired headphone, so now I'm returning it. SO PISSED!!!!!!!
