Hello Luke, you can use your LG V60 without opening the screen. Go to settings->Display-> select AOD(always-on display)-> select quick tools & music player whenever music is playing in the background and screen is off, swipe your always on display to access the music toggles. Also, i remember you said you don't need gain on your phone but i kindly insist you trick your phone to gain mode before you make your final conclusion about the phone. To me, at least, it does widen the sound stage just a little bit and the digital filters do make an audible difference too, something i couldn't achieve on my Fiio dap. Regards
@PerputuallyCensored13 күн бұрын
Do you have to "trick" it every single time you use the device or is it a one time function? To used AOD you have to disable the battery saver unfortunately.
@Totuus-qq5nr13 күн бұрын
@@PerputuallyCensored Unfortunately, you have to trick it every time if your iems are below 50 ohms. explained more in your Lg V60 video. Good job btw:)

That's not for me. Sounds like hassle. I'm more than happy with the sound as it is and I suspect I'll find the change to be marginal/negligible. Might try it once though, if I can be bothered... I tried it with a little balanced 3.5mm male to female adapter I have. It certainly boosts the volume but I'm not sure the stage is altered or improved. Sounds good though.

I own the Astell & Kern SP2000T, bought the EU Sony NW-WM1ZM2, but had to return it due to it's power limitations. The Sony sound signature was otherworldly, but the power/volume restrictions were too much to overlook at that price point! I finally settled on the HiBy RS8. Which is easily comparable to the Sony, and easily outperforms it in terms of power & versatility (HiBy cast/CR08 peripheral, R-2R DAC etc) Disclaimer! This IS NOT an endorsement of the RS8! Sound is subjective, so just enjoy the journey! I've reached summit-fi in terms of DAP, IMHO. It's all about IEM's & headphones now.
@PerputuallyCensored11 күн бұрын
I'd be intrigued to hear the RS8 for sure. Their flagship with a flagship price to match!
@AF-rd2vf7 күн бұрын
You are correct because with TOTL DAPs it’s about the headphones and IEMs. I settled on the SP3000.

The track skip forward button isn't mixed up. Sony determines that button based on the direction, the arrow on the play pause button's label is in. The play pause arrow points to the left, then the skip forward button will go on the left. And vice versa. This is how all Sony players are. I learned this years ago from a sony boombox i owned.
@PerputuallyCensored11 күн бұрын
Never said it was "mixed up". I already know how they are because I own 2 other Sony DAPs, which you would've known had you listened before rushing to comment. I said I prefer the buttons the other way around.
@VeerMaharaj8 күн бұрын
@@PerputuallyCensored No, you said they were "backwards, or what you regard as backwards" But it ends up being the same thing, mixed up compared to how other oems position their buttons. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKW2YZJjZZ2iqLc So here is the thing, I commented what i did so other people could understand Sony's logic for the position of the track forward and back buttons and in turn make it easier for them to use. When i got my Sony boombox back in the day, it was the same way. It took a lot to overcome my muscle memory from using other devices. So when making content, here is the first rule with regard to interacting with your viewers, if you have nothing good or positive or constructive to say, do not say anything. Next, never say this, "which you would've known had you listened before rushing to comment." because it is absolutely insulting. Especially when the viewer is just explaining something you never covered in the video. Anyway, try not to insult your viewers who are only trying to help.
@PerputuallyCensored8 күн бұрын
No it isn’t “the same thing”, it was a misrepresentation of what I said... You’re also in no position whatsoever to advise me on content & there are no “rules” 🤡. You’re not policing language here, you have zero power. Couldn’t care less if you felt insulted when being corrected either. I don’t care how and why Sony places its buttons in the opposite direction. I prefer them the logical way around, like Hiby and Fiio devices do it.@@VeerMaharaj

One question- if you cant hear any difference in sound quality between sources, why are you keep buying new daps?
@PerputuallyCensored12 күн бұрын
I'd appreciate it if you didn't misrepresent me. I just did a video on the LG V60 which contradicts what you claim my position is. As for the Sony, I said it is too early to compare sound, so again you are misrepresenting my position. Why you guys continue to do this I'm not sure but it is tiresome. I buy these audio devices to test/hear them for myself and form my opinion based on my experience with them. I can't know how they sound until I try them personally.

@@PerputuallyCensored Sorry it wasnt a malicious question, i didnt mean that this way. But if you already have the Hiby r6 Pro II and you dont hear any significant differences between this one an the V60, you will probably not hear on any other DAPs either as the Hiby 's SQ performance hits way beyond its price point. Keep doing what you do, im not criticising, just asking.

why did you buy this? You present the device more as a chore type toy then something to be enjoyed. It's a bit odd as that model Walkman is not cheap.. and yes Walkman. I do not know what a DAP is.. what an idiotic term.

"You present the device more as a chore type toy then something to be enjoyed..." Your opinion is incorrect, just so you know. Why did I buy it? Because I felt like it. It is "idiotic" to call a device that plays back digital audio a digital audio player? If you say so...
