Very enjoyable video. So many smart solutions! I never considered using the M10 as a portable music player. I'm definitely going to start doing that. Also, thank you for the line in tip.

The Zoom does have a proper line level direct to D/A inputs. USE the 1/4" inputs NOT the XLR. This enables you to bypass the poor quality mic pres in the Zoom unit.

But I do use the limiter we I expect loud spikes , I understand it does not affect the recording unless needsed

I generally keep the limiter off and set the levels manually .

Question: When using the Sony PCM M10 with the MM1 does your XLR output adapter to 3.5 TRS minijack give a signal to both left and right channels on the Sony?

What is the name of the cable that is going into the Sony's Line In port, which is feeding the mono signal to both the Left and Right channels in the Sony?

Do you use the limiter on the Sony? If so, does that just limit the loud peaks? I bought this recorder recently. I just want to be sure I don't loose sounds on the low end of human hearing. Thanks

Yes I have that MM-1 also,Id used it with an ME66 & it really shows that mic to be as awful as it is. I have an MKH416 now and the combination is terrific. Im using a Roland R-26 for versatility, nothing beats my PCM-D50 but I couldnt afford to have both. I recorded a year in india with it and a set of Binaurals, and bagged some amazing sounds. Id love to have that M10 for my pocket though.. Thanks for the review.

devtank Hi, I like your comment. It looks like the MM-1 is a great device because it accepts XLR inputs and has phantom power. Can you recommend any other companies that make a comparable device? It looks like it may have been discontinued.

Hi, Great video. Is that a xlr to 3.5 that you are using to go to the sony? The Phantom power is coming from the pre amp? Thanks
