The last PS I had was wayyy back and that was the PS1. After that I joined the PC master race. Now I'm 31 and I just want to sit on the couch after work and game on my 4K tv without worrying about performance. A friend of mine who bought the PS5 recently has infected me with the PS5 virus 😂😂😂. So I just couldn't let the PS5 go anymore especially when almost all stores in The Netherlands have it in stock. And the price is right! I just can't wait to pick up the PS5 right after payday 😂. I love PC games and it's my preferred method of gaming, however, you can't go wrong with a console. I purchased my PS5 disc version on May 11 2023 and at first, I thought I made a mistake. I had the PS4 Pro since 2019 and although I didn't play it that often, I was satisfied with it and what it had to offer. But after about a month of playing with my PS5, I am very impressed with this console. I own 11 games on it so far (most of which are disc, 4 of which are digital), I own a total of 3 controllers (red and camo, thinking of getting that baby blue color) and I have a 2tb M.2 in it, wasn't expecting to purchase that many games. The last console I really enjoyed was the Xbox 360. I think I had about 20 games for that system. In the end, I think its worth owning a PS5. Plus I have about 200 movies that I like to watch and since the PS5 is also a 4k player, I can watch those movies too.

IMPORTANT! - Having your PS5 standing vertically (long ways up) may have your liquid cooling metal leak out of the bottom, so place it horizontally! (On its side) - Sony apparently fixed this issue with newer released models, but still be cautious. Other than that, the console is great. Upgrade it with an SSD and you’ve got an amazing gaming machine.

great review but you are wrong with regards to the 8k output that is for video format only the console will not output any game at 8k and never will. for the most part it is upscaling games to 4k as it can not play them in native 4k

You are correct about gaming in 8k however the PS5 does support native 4K gaming, but most titles are restricted to 30fps. In that respect games are rendered in a lower resolution and upscaled to 4k to get the highest possible frame rate

Just bought a PS5 and enjoying it. Thanks for your review but are you sure on an Xbox series S you don’t get 60 and 120hz ? I get 120hz on my series S but the games don’t look as smooth compared to the PS5. Unless my TV is lying to me as it comes up as 120hz on some games on the series S.

I think you are mistaking hz with frame rates. 60 and 120hz refers to the refresh rate on your TV/Monitor, it does not gaurantee that your games will be getting 120 frames per second, that is the upper limit.

I have both PS5 and Series S. These are my first ever consoles as I use to game on a PC back in 360/PS3 era. To be honest, you can’t go wrong with any of the platform for this generation. PS5 has better controller and more games that I want to play. While Xbox is cheaper to own due gamepass and with features like quick resume, smart delivery, FPS/resolution boost and way way better backwards compatibility, Xbox is more user friendly out of the two. Playstation = Immersion and Quality Xbox = Value and Convenience.

Got my ps5 little over a month ago and I am happy with it I have to say that there are some differences between the Ps5 and Series X like the faster ssd and the non proprietary storage option The only downside to the PS5 is that external storage is limited to only a single drive at a time and it can not be larger than 8TB … In terms of accessories I got the remote and charging stand as I found both to be very useful While I am aware that HDMI CEC should allow people to use there tv remote I know there are some issues with doing it that way from doing it that way on my PS4 Pro As for the charging stand … I just prefer to turn my console fully off when not in use (not in rest mode) and the stand makes it easy to drop your controllers onto it and let them charge … it also works nicely when swapping controllers as you don’t need to hook up a cable … but this might also be a bit of a personal preference

I can answer that question....Since Sony is porting thier games to PC, just get a PC to play PS5 games. In my case l still have a PS4Slim so l don't have to worry about back compatibility because l can still play my PS4 games on my PS4 Slim. Im using 2.1. The main difference between 2.0 and 2.1 is that if you want anything faster than 60hz on a 4k monitor, you have to go 2.1 as it has more than double the bandwidth of 2.0.
