"Sony’s InZone gaming monitors and headsets are for more than just PS5 gamers. Sony is attempting to reach out to more than just PS5 gamers with its new InZone brand of gaming monitors and headsets. I got my hands on them in the video embedded above if you’d rather see or hear me talk about these gadgets. Made for PC but with specs to take full advantage of the PS5, along with Xbox Series X, the $899 InZone M9 is the flagship product of the bunch. It’s a 27-inch 4K IPS gaming monitor built to match the aesthetic of the PS5 while having basically every imaginable spec that gamers may universally want, sans OLED panel, of course. It has a 144Hz refresh rate (that’s not so common to find with a 4K screen), a 1ms response time, variable refresh rate (VRR, both for consoles and with G-Sync compatibility for Nvidia GPUs), plus DisplayPort and HDMI 2.1 ports. It can also display video via USB-C.Notably, the M9 features full-array local dimming with 96 zones, along with DisplayHDR 600, both of which allow for brighter highlights, darker blacks, and the ability to juggle the two without too much of a haloing effect. Some features that are special to this monitor (and that trickled down from high-end Bravia TVs) include auto HDR tone mapping, which automatically recognizes the M9 when plugged into a PS5 and claims to optimize the display’s HDR output. "PlayStation Insider Shares Update on PS5 Pro Controlle. A PlayStation insider has shared an update on the rumored PS5 Pro controller. A Sony event is set to go down on June 28, and according to a report, Sony is going to unveil its new "INZONE" line, comprised of three pairs of headphones and two gaming monitors. The event itself has been confirmed, but the contents of the event have not, though in Sony's announcement it did seemingly drop a subtle tease at INZONE. That said, at the time of the initial report, there was some speculation that the rumored PS5 Pro controller could be revealed at this hardware event. According to a follow-up from industry insider and leaker, Tom Henderson, this isn't going to happen. Henderson doesn't say when the controller will be revealed, but he claims it will definitely not be at this event, which will be limited to the INZONE line, which the controller is not a part of. As for the controller itself, we still same details. Henderson claims it's "a genuine professional controller" being made under the codename "Hunt." It's said to have the same form, but there are some hardware adjustments, such as removable analog sticks, trigger stops, rear buttons, and removable grips. If you play ps5 and Pc the LG C1 is hands down the best option. It’s HDR 10, 120hz, and it’s 4k gsync certified. It is so beautiful. The screen is glossy and not satin. Highly recommended you can get a 55” for 1450$ or buy a 27” monitor for 900$……..?

If it has a good response time it might actually be a good price. There are a lot of other things besides resolution and refresh rate that some manufactureres skimp out on. Like I got this 4k samsung monitor for like $350. But when you play games on it theres a lot of artifacts. It does that thing where it draws in between frames and it makes mistakes.

Also most of the PC owners right now can’t run an FPS @ 4K120. Now if your an esports gamer, then you should get the lower resolution with higher frame rate monitor.

But 48" isn't feasible for a lot of people to put on their desk or might be too big for them at that distance and has some drawbacks for monitor use. Purchased this monitor when it was released and am using it with my PS5 and M1 MacBook Pro. So far I’m loving it except for some parts of the HDR. I say some parts because when watching movies and gaming in HDR, I notice the local dimming (when set to high) causing the image to exhibit haloing that looks different from what I’ve seen in other Sony LED backlight displays. This only happens in a pitch black room with no bias lighting but it’s actually kinda distracting. To the point where I feel like turning local dimming to low is a better option with HDR content. I find it’s most noticeable with contrasty HDR movie scenes but when you know what to look for it’s noticeable with pretty much all HDR content. You get haloing in the form of squiggly white lines that move around frame depending where highlighted objects/subjects are in the frame. Not sure if it’s just my panel but given that the monitor has none of the screen defects people have been posting online about, I want to say I have a solid panel. Just wondering if anyone can add to this discussion. I love this monitor and if this is a normal backlight consequence on a 27 inch screen, I’m willing to put up with it. But if it’s a defect, then I feel like I should swap it out while the return window is still good. Thanks all 🤘🏼

The move by Sony to produce monitor that is matching with the PS5 is very welcoming. In my case, I bought a PS4 Pro and a 27 inch 4K LG monitor simultaneously to match the console's specification, back in 2016.

The specs of the M9 you could get the equivalent specs of this for less look at the LG 27GP950-B. They sell for around £799 or less. I bought two of these predominantly used for work. But I also use this with my PS5. They support 144HZ VRR, Gsync & freesync. HDR 600. Colours in HDR really do pop literally night and day. These can also be overclocked to 165hz at 4k but never had any luck with my monitors. But yeah defiantly a cheaper option to check out. I believe over time Sonys monitors may become more price competitive to the likes of Asus, Gigabyte, MSI and LG etc. Nice to see any manufacturers come into the market means these technologies will become cheaper in the future.

Hey nice video! Saw you using a Macbook with the M9. I'm interested in buying the this mointor to use with my Macbook Pro 14" and game with my PS5 (and Switch). Do you know if Mac OS "Night Shift" feature works with the Sony as a second monitor? Is it possible to get 144hz connected with Display Port? (My Caldigit Hub has DP, and then it connects through Thunderbolt 3 to my Macbook). Also, is there any kind of Mac OS App to control the monitor without the normal OSD? The pricing is very competitive, especially when speaking of 4K @144Hz. If you try to buy a comparable monitor in Canada with HDMI 2.1 compatibility, you’re going to be facing an easy starting price of $1200 CAD. I’m sure the $900 is in USD, which roughly translates to $1200 CAD in any case. So it’s not a matter of it being a good or bad price, it’s just the standard cost of the tech across the board. Blame inflation, bad trade agreements and taxes for why standard costs of goods and labour have become exponentially higher in recent years.

Local Dimming is to provide better contrast. It likely will not help you see enemies better in the dark. In fact if anything it could potentially hurt you. It just means they turn off the backlight in sections of the screen when they display black so that you get a true black and not a typical LCD black which looks more greyish. The problem is 9 its not per pixel like OLED and its broken into segments so they have to make a decision for an entire section of the screen. 9 zones probably means a 3x3 grid across the screen.

Yeah I just spent 600 on a ps5 plus 250 for a 2tb internal m.2 ssd and 20 on a cooling fan attachment, plus some new games. I'm not worried about a tiny screen or gaming headphones I'll barely use. The monitor is nice but I can't justify the $900 dollars sticker price. For my PS5 I use a 32inch samsung 4ktv I paid $400 dollars and for PC Gaming I use a 27inch MSI Curved monitor which is perfect for gaming and it cost me 200 dollars is not 4k but it does the job.

The only reason I'm not buying PS5 this years because I'm affording buying a Gaming Laptop with RTX3060 i5. Here is a complete difference between PS5 and my RTX3060 that changes everything according to my opinion. 1)Ride 4 Better realistic graphic compared to PS5. 2) Cyberpunk 2077: Better graphic/extra water rendering than ps5 3) Real Engine 5 4) 144hz Laptop screen. 5) More affordable price compared to PS5. 6) I can play PC game with Controller 7) Much cheaper gaming on PC market. 8) My friend geting Ylod on PS5 after playing cyberpunk several hour.
