I’ve watched dozens of videos on Vision Pro but no reviewer has ever answered these questions: 1. How far away can you get from windows before they reset or error out? For example, Can i leave a window in my bathroom permanently and go outside and mow the lawn or walk down the street, drive away etc, etc and come back in and it’s still there? How big is the area it can map? 2. Is there some kind of save state for your windows so you don’t have to set everything up over and over?
@MaxTechOfficial9 ай бұрын
1: The distance is impressive, at the moment they do stay if you walk away about 2 blocks, so if you walk outside and come back they will be in place. 2: The windows do stay but not after restart. Currently the VP does not support that feature, but hopefully apple will improve these features.

It can actually detect if you’re in different buildings too. You can open a bunch of windows at home, go to work, open windows there, and as you travel between the two places it’ll keep the windows perfectly in place and show the correct ones.

Sensor data have constant volume and are quite unique, so total space required to store it would be very easy to calculate. I've also missed the ability to use the Vision Pro's pointing methods when interacting with the virtual monitor, but I expect that ability will come some day. The trick will be to have MacOS receive the "pointer" location and THEN to have the apps highlight the selected field. Right now MacOS apps don't have to highlight a field when the mouse pointer hovers over them. But Apple could add that functionality to individual MacOS apps along with the ability to receive the location updates. So, I wouldn't be surprised to see the VP's pointer appear on the virtual monitor some time in the future. For a NEW product, this device is even MORE useful than I expected, and like the iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch before it, we'll only see it get better over time as more software becomes integrated.

I don’t think having 1 display is a limit of the M2 chip. I think it’s likely a limitation of the wireless connection. Remember that the macbook is rendering the display, the vision pro just has to rasterise it. And the fact you can have multiple vision pro windows means it is perfectly capable of rasterising multiple displays.

two things that make no sense to me: 1. why did they even bother with the fancy single strap when the more traditional two band strap is way more comfortable. this could've at least been $200-300 cheaper just because of that probably. 2. this is billed as being able to replace your monitors. why is there not at least the option for dual monitors when connected to a mac? triple would be ideal and the ideal limit for most people but the fact that you can only have one screen and then what amounts to a bunch of ipad apps next to it just makes it feel more like a toy to me.

I have watched a lot of videos on the Vision Pro, including reviews, and what strikes me is that the reviewers always say "you CAN do that...", "you CAN do this..." but it never looks like it would be more convenient to actually do it with this device compared to a regular desktop computer. And same here, the title of the video is "I WORKED 8 hours", but it does not feel at all like the reviewer did 8 hours of actual work with the Vision Pro. So far it looks like a very impressive and very nice toy, but absolutely not something that you want to use for 8 hours to work (and the reviewer seems actually very relieved when he takes it off at the end of the video).

Please can any single person create the very first video that describes what it is like to use the Apple Vision Pro as a stand alone productivity device? 1. Not everyone is a video editor. Work does not revolve around video editing. You can be productive without editing a video. 2. Not everyone has $8'000 to blow on an Apple Mac AND an Apple Vision Pro. For some people, it is one or the other. Therefore, I am desperate to get a feel for what it is like to pair the Apple Vision Pro with nothing but a Magic Keyboard. To type up documents in Microsoft Word. To design presentations on Microsoft Powerpoint. To practice them in Keynote. Maybe to edit photographs, even if only in lightroom. And to create computer programs using iPad and iPhone compilers in the app store (I am hoping and assuming that the developers have not all opted out).

Thanks, this was a really nice and informative presentation of real word use cases and usability. Hopefully some of the shortcomings can be fixed. My take: 1) Audio stream mixed in from both MacBook and Vision Pro apps. 2) At least two virtual MacBook screens 3) Seamless macOS apps, just drag an app window out from your virtual desktop into the AR world and interact with it like a Visual Pro app. This could work if macOS apps could opt-in on Vision Pro support and be recompiled with it. (Obviously a lot of complexities involved under the hood to enable this, but probably doable). With 3 available on most apps, point 2 is maybe not needed. 4) Much larger field of view 5) Even sharper AR 6) Weight 7) Share window/app publicly or to group of users. If in group or it is public and you are in Vision Pro, close to the app’s placement, you all see it in the same place and can interact with it. (Bonus: maybe there will Vision Pro app server devices, to publish public Vision Pro apps, fixed to a certain surrounding 😂)

Final Cut Pro is now on the iPad, so it shouldn't be long before Apple ports it to the Vision Pro. That's what I see a lot of people trying to run on it, and even as it is, it seems to work pretty well. There is a replacement speaker for the Vision Pro that includes a USB port, specifically for developers. I'm not sure what I need a bunch of displays all over the place for. In VR and AR, your eyes are more relaxed than looking at your phone or reading a book since the lenses set the focal distance over 1 meter away. This is why short sighted people need to keep wearing their glasses in the headset. It is hard to wrap your head around since you can have an object that is 6 inches from your face in the VR environment but your eyes are actually relaxed like you are looking at something that is 1 meter away. Everything at all distances is always in focus in VR so your eyes never have to use the muscles to adjust focus.

Time for Apple devices to at least have the option for power users to boot to MacOS, with touch and gesture support. It would be fine if the support was limited to begin with, but at least it would be a start, and MacOS designers (and third parties) could gradually improve it over time, for both the ipad pros, and the vision.

I am interested in whether the eyes suffer permanent damage from daily and long-term use. Are there any announcements from Apple about it?

It's definitely going to screw up your eyes in the long run and just imagine how much radiation is cooking your brain now that you have wifi, 5g-6g streaming through you. It's definitely not healthy and will cause cancer in no time. Just imagine a smartphone glued to your brain for 24/7. It's way worse than that.

Thank you for this demonstration. It was very well done. What I have been looking to see is how I can zoom in and out. I am legally blind and use the Zoom feature on my iMac and MacBook. I really would like to see if/how the Zoom feature can help me read text within the windows and also text on a wall in the room or signage such as the name on a store or the text on a street sign. Please consider demonstrating this feature if it exists on the Apple Vision Pro.

Max just triggered all my Apple devices to go nuts with “Hey Siri” 😂

The thing being standalone computer is not very useful to me. From productivity I guess the killer feature would be to act as multiple display setup for Mac something like 4x 40”. What would also be cool is a mode allowing selective passthrough for mouse and keyboard so you don’t lose track of where they are, while darkening everything else.

I have purchased iPad pros ever since they came out. However, for the first time I am going to go with the 12.9 iPad air. I just don’t see the value in the new iPad Pro. Price has exceeded value. Thank you very much for the video.

Nobody has answered my question: When you disconnect the battery and reconnect later, is your workspace with windows preserved in place? In a related question, can you save workspace environments to rejoin later? ... this might be useful for enjoying evening entertainment after a workday. In this way, you could set up 'virtual rooms' to re-enter at a time of your choosing.

No it resets every time when you turn it off or unplug it.

That's a huge disconnect - that the audio doesn't switch with the video from the macbook (nice catch).

Thank you for this review. I wasn't sure if I could really use this for work or if just useful for play like the Quest 3. This looks like a promising first gen product.
@stephencagigal60849 ай бұрын
So now that the Quest 3 has color passthrough, can connect to either macOS or Windows, use up to 5 displays for the computer, internal battery, and has the ability to grab controllers for games, is the Vision Pro worth the extra $3,000?

I think you pay for the quality for Vision Pro

Pretty nice video! You proved that the virtual worlds will be the future soon. I would like to know if screens are stable in places like traditional ones?

Hello thank you for review! Is it worth to buy 512gb version?

Do you use this setup still? Are the issues you mentioned fixed?

i really like how the app remains where it is. This is another level of Pokemon Go. Imagine that the app can be seen by multiple people like a Yelp review in front of the restaurant - or a food menu with 3D image. Or even create a bike path or hiking direction. Can't wait for what will come in the future.

I don’t know why more people don’t use Siri especially while driving. They’ve really improved her word recognition and she even does punctuation pretty well now so I usually don’t have to vocalize it. She’s not flawless but it’s plenty good for most situations and extremely helpful for hands free driving.

I appreciate the video very much, thank you. My question is, if you had to rate your degree of productivity with and without AVP, how would you rate it? For example, are you 20% more productive while wearing them? Or 20% less productive? Thank you!

What a great video. Actually seeing you guys do work in this device, and getting a behind-the-scenes peek! Awesome. I can’t afford VP yet (not broke but I do budget 😉) but I’m thinking as soon as I have budgeted enough for it I’ll pull the trigger…
