@@DougJensenVortexMedia Thx! Do you have a LUT or is it just simple color correction?
@DougJensenVortexMedia2 жыл бұрын
@@katek23 I definitely used a Sony LUT as starting point and then color corrected after that. I can't recall which Sony LUT I used without going back to the Resolve project and looking, but it was one of the S-LOG3 LUTs that comes built into Resolve. I don't use any 3rd party LUTs, but with that said, applying the Sony LUT is just the first step to get the picture in the ballpark. The a few more quick tweaks to finalize. @@DougJensenVortexMedia Thx again. Do you offer grading training for Final Cut?
@DougJensenVortexMedia2 жыл бұрын
@@katek23 Uh oh, now you've stepped in it! :-) Final Cut and Premiere are for editing and minor color correction only -- they are not grading programs and are not a substitute for a true color grading application such as Resolve. No comparison at all. The power, speed, and tools in Resolve are far more advanced than those found in a regular NLE. There are good reasons why zero profressional colorists who use Final Cut or Premiere for color grading. 100% of everything I shoot goes through Resolve before I edit in Premiere.

im curious about the FTP increasing speeds. Does that also provides a better video quality when live monitoring from a tablet? The video quality of the FX6 was horrible for live monitoring and I was very disappointed I couldn't give a tablet for a client on set and needed to use teradeks

Great video! I got your instructional video series and it's just plain outstanding. Any chance you plan on a "how to update" section in the upcoming video? Sony firmware updates can be a bit of a pain. I saw the FX9 had you use the SD card. I'm hoping they go for that with the FX6.
@DougJensenVortexMedia3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliments, but I don't be doing a "how to install the firmware" video. There is too much of a risk that people will blame me for bricking their camera if they don't do it right. FYI, the firmware will need to be installed via USB connection to a computer, not by memory card.

Am I wondering if the FX6 course contains English subtitles? Because I can't speak English and I would translate it with a translation program. The good thing about KZbin is that it automatically translates to many languages, making it a great way to learn and understand information.

I l like your channel and the way you explain and comment on things. Very professional and thorough. But looks like Sony didn’t fix one very important thing and that is auto focus at 24 frames per second. Anybody who is shooting a movie would want this capability
@DougJensenVortexMedia3 жыл бұрын
Auto-Focus works perfectly at 23.98p. I've never tested it at 24p, so I can't say whether it works or not. The reason I haven't tested it is because I don't know anyone who actually shoots 24p, which is really intended for direct transfer to film. 23.98p is the mainstream Frequency for people, including myself, who want the 24p film "look". And as I said, all AF functionality works great at 23.98p.

@@DougJensenVortexMedia I'm glad you told me. I didn't see any other instructional video explaining this. Bloom said he was frustrated it didn't have autofocus at 24fps. That was the reason I didn't even consider this camera and was thinking of getting Canon C70. But Sony seems superior because of electronic ND and full frame sensor.

@@atomicdynamo6062 I'm glad I could set the disinformation straight. In fact, 99% of the footage in this video was shot at 23.98.
