Nothing beats doing it in camera when it comes to glass. It’s not as simple as just a diffusion filter. Which don’t get me started at how diffusion filters can ruin your lenses haha. @@cammackey You are future proof right. Creativity blooms when boundaries are pushed. Like absolutely always. And point of views are all about what we are doing in our lives ( we don't know what we don't know or/and experienced). So something that will happen always, is how you start to see things when you learn how optics really work in something like a Panavision Primo or a Angenieux parfocal zoom. Because those lenses push boundaries from conventional clinically corrected elements, to explore a deeper language. The same is when one hear for the first time a Loaded horn Hi End sound system. After that, there is no turning back. And maybe people need to remember this, the importance of a tangible cinematic experience, just like Nolan it's telling all this years. I can expand on the technicalities, but it's been proven that KZbin can't handle it... it sounds boring. So it's nice you can make it fun.

It's a $2800 lens, and it ain't close to perfect. People are going to need to REALLY do the math if this lens is worth the squeeze. It's an interest thing that makes a lot more sense used 12 months from today.
@cammackey2 күн бұрын
Here’s the issue tho.. “ain’t close to perfect”.. what’s that even mean?
@scotttuckerphotography2 күн бұрын
@@cammackey 0:48 "sony made it insanely perfect" ... flares hard and green, loses sharpness near MFD, kind of gritty bokeh rings...no, it's not perfect, or close to it, but it's priced like other brand lenses that have MUCH better optical performance. not saying it's a bad lens, and I'm actually glad to see Sony doing something like this, but to pay $2800 for these perceived "flaws" deserves more than two seconds of absorbing marketing hype. the very essence of a "character" lens is to be imperfect in appealing ways. if the specific oddities about this lens are appealing to someone, maybe it's worth the money. doesn't seem to be a refined wedding-caliber lens like the Canon version IMO based on what all of the influencers have released in the last 24 hours.
@cammackeyКүн бұрын
But again, who said that’s what makes a lens “perfect”? Were we told to think that’s what perfect is? How would you describe perfect? My verbiage of “perfect” was to poke at that fact. That people tend to think a perfect lens means it has zero issues.. Just take sharp.. to me, that’s not perfect. Perfection to me is a balance of sharp and soft. I love an astigmatism. Bokeh that quickly falls off with a swirly. That’s perfect to me. So, what do you think perfect is? To me.. this lens is perfection for the heard.
