How are you supposed to position these speakers. If I have them 1ft away from either side of my computer monitor, should the speakers be pointed at me?

The general rule is to have the tweeters pointed just wide of your ear. The idea is that the majority of stereo sound field meets just behind your head.

Im glad these are finally making their way out there for these guys. I'm waiting for Sony to make a comeback in the audiophile game, i really wanna see the John Darko review. Also surpised sony int showing off by telling us details about what kinds of drivers they are using specifically, for the price they are you'd think they are beryllium drivers or something.

The tweeters are some kind of aramid fiber from what I can tell. Soft but stiff. They sound incredible though, I was truly surprised. Sony really can deliver when they try.

@@GramophoneMD The tweeter array is lifted from the SS-NA2ES floor standing speaker (and its SS-NA5ES stand-mount sibling), where they also perform wonderfully. Sorry if already mentioned, I skipped straight to the sound test!

Hello Hebalott, the vendors don't often give us a lot of heads-up on new product these days. But the SA-Z1 are very good. I wouldn't hesitate to move ahead with them if you are in the market for nearfield speakers

@@JMAudioEditions to each his own. If you want still solid nearfield for a similar price and performance category check out Totem’s Element Fire V2. You’ll need separate electronics to drive them though. That’s a sleek looking speaker.

Acoustic guitars can have harmonic frequencies up to 28KHz. Acoustic guitar solo music is a great way to test the sound quality of speakers. Some audiophiles want a sonically perfect speakers and others want that little bit of distortion for that organic signature.
