Sony Should Be EMBARRASSED (Playstation Plus Rant)

Playstation and Sony should quite frankly be embarrassed for this greedy nonsense. I think I was rethinking buying new video games all the time after they became $70.00. Sure I can understand that games are getting more and more expensive to produce but it just never made sense that a lot of these franchises need to up the cost of their games while they’re making millions of DLCs and Microtransactions. Not to mention more and more of these games that are being brought to us are being put out in increasingly unfishes states. Seriously, some of these games are completely unplayable. Now that isn’t necessarily Sony’s fault. I'd actually argue that Sony has some really good exclusives under its belt. But as a gamer when I’m already pretty miffed at the industry the last thing I need to see is this nonsense.

I left Sony back in 2019 when my ps4 kicked the bucket and I moved to pc. The past couple months, I was honestly thinking about getting a ps5 because I miss playing with my friends. But now that Sony said "Fuck it" and increased their subscription fees, I'm gonna stick with pc.

They dont even have barely any first party multiplayer games the only ones i could think of is killzone shadow fall uncharted 4 tlou and gran tarismo that's it. I only paid for plus for multiplayer because most the games on their ps plus i already owned and platinumed its ridiculous

I'll tell you what I think, I think that people should put foot down to this, if you are willing to pay that price, they will charge you more later and keep walking on you. Plus Sony makes Single player games, look at what they make, spider man no co-op, god of war single player, horrizon single player. You can pretty much buy those 3rd party developer games on PC and play with your friends still by using the playstation to talk to them. Just hook the ps5 controller to the PC and bam. Sony isn't offering you multiplayer experience, other developers are and they are using them to make cash for themselves and expect you to pay, 70 dollar games was bad enough and even charge 20-30 dollar DLC which could just be one extra map and a skin or an item. People having to pay for Season pass. They lost 2mil subscribers in 2022 and in my opinion taking it out on existing members to cover what they lost. claiming its High quality games they give you, though give you games like generation zero and saints row. funny cause I own generation zero its not very good, its a walking sim with robot spawns and saints row? I didn't care of that back then, I don't care about it now. I mean even when they go, well you're going to miss out on all the games we gave you free, not really because I own most of those games they were giving for free and usually one of the free games were always Indie. I tried the premium it wasn't all that cracked up to be, I could bust out my ps2 and get the same experience free and 80 dollars for regular, no thanks, I would much rather get my library going on the PC now and use my system as a single player experience from now on. Sony in my opinion is showing people that there are other options, some people might say 80 dollars for 1 year bring up some sort of mcdonalds logic, news flash mcdonalds sucks and so do those prices. what's really funny is that I was going to get the playstation 5 pro but not anymore. Though I may still get it just to give my nephew my original ps5, I just think Sony really screwed up here. I mean the others who are willing to stay, good luck those empty lobbies in some of your games that have no cross feature, because people might end up leaving those games with empty seats to fill because of this.

Nothing is free in this world and Sony has been unprofitable for the years that everything was free. Servers cost money, labour costs money and PS5's as well as Xbox's are sold at a loss so they can be recouped at a later date. Sony over the past 2 years has seen a massive drop in profit of around 50% which is pushing them to increase prices. This isn't just Sony it's everybody, including small businesses.

@@theinvincibleleo8135 They make money through software licensing of other products like Office365 and also have enterprise plans for large businesses where they sell licenses by the hundreds or thousands for Windows Enterprise. Also things being free is usually bad as companies will try to make money in other ways. The excellent example is Facebook which is highly profitable while having a free product because they collect huge amounts of data and sell to advertisers and have a massive advertisement platform. The same goes for KZbin, it's free until you take a look under the hood.
