I found one of these in excellent condition at a Goodwill about a year ago. Pretty amazing 5.1 surround. It's got Dolby Compression which is great for movies, however the range control doesn't work for DTS signals so the audio is all over the place.

How can I use this receiver to my newer TV? My new TV doesn't have any jack input/output. Both TV and receiver have an optical connection. Is it thru the optical wire ?

How do you get music to play out all the speakers when hooked up aux and into a phone? Mine only does 2 channel if i go to normsurround then it goes super quiet and statics

It's the same receiver it has a aux port rca to 3.5 and i have tried every single mode on the receiver none of them give me full sound out of all 5 speakers only the center and rear channels get full sound front left and right sound like a echo.. If i put the receiver in 2 channel mode the front 2 speakers sound perfect. Idk

@@taylorg5577 aah, ok,ok, different model then, is ok, use Aux, but to have all speakers working, you must play audio that is specific to "5.1" (but that does not always mean they will all sound at the same time). 5.1 means that it is recorded in a way that designates parts of the audio to play a certain time at a specific speaker. Home theatre has "hall" option for stereo audio; it may play only the rear ones. Hope this helps! Thank you

sorry for my late respond... you need 3.5 mm stereo to RCA cable, connect the 3.5 plug to the cell or mp3 player, The RCA side need to be connected to any of your free inputs of you receiver (CD, Aux, etc) but never in the phono input if you receiver have one

What's your problem, type of video or audio cables? if you need to get the audio from your TV and send it to the receiver, you need to buy a cable 3.5 Stereo to RCA., 3.5 in the TV side and RCA to the Receiver, You select the input. video need to be standard (not HD) this receiver is not HD, the quality will be very poor
