Nice comparison..Ty...No audiophile here but clearly you can do a permanent underwater test for the SC only? Pretty much sounds like where it was retrieved from. Sony clearly takes this one with the polished mids and balanced bass. Much more clear soundstage overall. Pretty obvious. JBL not too far behind. When you throw LDAC in there, Sony clearly has the edge for a cleaner sound as a whole.

In a couple months the price of the Sony speaker I think will drop a little bit for now I am surprised about the sound quality of Sony speaker because it's sounds pretty good finally. I am not entirely fan of JBL I am looking always for convenience of quality and my little speaker is a Bose sound link flex for reference.

So true. I own this speaker and you must choose the Hi-Res option in the settings from the app; Which updates the firmware, making it sound normal and not washed out like this. Unfortunately it reduces the battery life by half but can be toggled from the app.

@rockytirajeans6802 Yeah, it is. Sound quality is great, just wish a little louder. I have it setup in my truck for calls. No aux either which can be a PITA for my main use. Haven't figured out how to tether to both my phone and portable head unit and maintain connection. For a small unit that does do calls, amazing. Think I am going to try something different for my main use though. Just because I am deaf (3 trips deployed) and I'd like a wired connection too.

tbh, for rock music in standard settings it doesn't sound that great in the mids and highs.... 😅 It missed something in comparison to the JBL flip 6. So yeah it's great it seems to have a wider sound stage but I would personally manually tweak it with the EQ =). Love the color tho. And I do wonder how it does compare to the XB100 haha

That's a GREAT question! In the past, I've used the Charge 5 for watching movies with our outdoor projector. It worked great. Then I switched it for the Motion 300 because I thought it made the voices cleaner. Now, the Field 1 is doing the job better than both of them.

In my speakers collection i've got Sony, JBL, UE, and Anker brand speakers Usually I buying what is currently on SALE, never bought speaker at retail price. Mostly I choose JBL because they was better in sound quality. And always before next-gen release, JBL lowering price a lot. Like my Boombox 3 bought for 280 GBP (365 USD). But... Sony this time learn lesson. Maybe, when Sony put this speaker line on sale - I grab one for myself.
