Love it! Is another impressive product from Sony, and another step up from their previous generation. (unlike Sennheiser, who didn't really do much in their G4 update from the G3 wireless, was a very small update)

Just bought this set in Sweden. Ooh boy is the pricing different, our kits are about 2000 EUR here. Have been using different systems that weren´t too reliable from cheaper brands and decided to step up to better level. Will use both during live streaming and weddings etc.

Hi, I would love to know if with the SMAD-P5 and the uwp-d27 to the sony fx6, I can see and monitor each transmiter separately in the camera on seperate channles?

Insane how while the YT crowd freaks out about the Rode Wireless Mic Go, the professional industry has toys like this. Really shows that pro video is still leagues ahead of the consumer. Though I really don’t understand sony’s obsession with the Multi-interface shoe… on cine cam rigs it’s probably not a big deal, but does anyone actually want to strap that thing to the top of their rig? Why not just use a typical line-in?

the idea behind the MI-shoe is that you get digital audio directly into the camera, the camera powers the receiver (although I think in this case only one channel works then) avoiding cables hanging all around your rig, could be practical.

Honestly this isn't even Sony's truly professional wireless! That's their much more impressive Sony DWX range which is for the audio pros. The Sony UWP-D series is prosumer wireless, intended for videographers/hobbyists/indies/students/etc instead. They're aimed as competitors to the Sennheiser G4 wireless. (same price, but in my opinion the Sonys are a lot better) As for the multi-interface shoe, it has a number of benefits, such as not needing cabling, no need to worry about powering, allows more channels into a camera, better quality audio as saying digital, etc (it's an especially good idea if being used with little mirrorless cameras).

In the video he says you can scan the entire frequency band anywhere in the United States. But if you click on the link at B&H, it still sells the product in three separate bands. Are two out of three for other countries?

All three frequency bands of the Sony UWP-D27 2-Person Camera-Mount Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System listed by B&H are able to be used in the United States. The reference to scanning the entire frequency band pertains to the wireless system's ability to scan its operable frequencies in any location, to determine the best frequency available at that time and place.

Wish I saw this before buying the D27 kit. The SMAD-P5 Multi-interface should really be included in the package for the price. Massively disappointed.

And as usual Sony don't let us adjust the volume on the a7s iii or any other alpha!!!!! of course! why let us? buy DJI or any other one that let you adjust the input volume on camera
