Yes the delay is extremely noticable even with the newest bt 5.3/5.4 it's still over the 30ms noticable lag bar. 2.4ghz is seamless for the most part where as there is a slower travel of communication with bt.

Yes with Bluetooth there is a significantly noticable lag I wouldn't recommend these for gaming over Bluetooth where as a wireless gaming headset either uses a 2.4ghz wireless adapter or have a low latency gaming mode

Thanks for the video. For me the Blackshark doesn’t sound as good as the xm5 (wired ) they have more bass and better sound quality. Just bought the Razer Blackshark v2 PRO 2023 and they are not even close enough. Planing to return them to Amazon and just play with the xm5 wired mode. I’m more the single player guy .

There will be a noticable latency while playing games with the Sony headphones because wireless over Bluetooth has a latency I dont recommend gaming over Bluetooth however the Sony wh-1000xm4 do a great job at lowering that latency

You'll normally get a higher volume ceiling with a dac due to having stronger amps and I find the sound to be cleaner but you can run them out of any aux just fine and get great sound

It depends on your budget I always point people in the direction of the Scarlett solo it's got clean audio and it can push decent power for a higher ohm headset but can't push a hard to push dynamic mic like the sm7b but yea it's hard to recommend without knowing budget

I bought these yesterday. Wired gives a boost to volume but really distorts the sound. Wireless sounds amazing, balanced, and just rocks with bass. I was using onboard audio. An amp may fix the distortion (it was very obvious). Boosted the highs and miss but as soon as it hit lows it distorted it.

@@IAmVehement yeah I was actually comparing them side by side to my senn 560s. All for pc gaming. But using music to compare. 560s hold their own but there’s no doubt I made a great purchase. The only downside I had while playing rising storm 2 yesterday was the explosions from air strikes were so bassy that I couldn’t hear my team mates which is EXACTLY what I wanted. I want BF2042 to sound like a war zone. Other than that it picks up footsteps louder than any previous headset so it’s going to take some getting used to because when it sounds like someone’s 5ft from you they actually are pretty far. It’s a strong positive WHEN you get used to it. But before you do it will have you thinking someone’s on top of you when they haven’t even gotten close lol.

A dac or preamp is to help drive the headphones better it's a cleaner signal and a higher quality output than just plugging them directly into a PC even a 50 dollar dac will drive them better then directly into a PC if you wanna comment back what your looking at I could give you feedback

thru bluetooth it works like any other bluetooth device but with pretty low latency and thru wire it has a better frequency response and better quality and if you have an android device you can enable LDAC codec in the BT settings and theres lots of features inside the sony app as well like DSEE: Extreme and a EQ

They are great for watching videos and movies on phones through BT they have super low latency and in the app you can lower the latency even further and if your just playing a single player game using the Bluetooth is fine but there is a noticable delay when gaming whether it's a phone or a PC

I always keep my headphones at stock EQ I also don't know if the saved EQ will work wired to the PS4 I could be wrong about that but if I were to EQ for games I'd use the clear EQ or pull down some of the bass in the 5 band EQ especially for competit shooters so you can hear footsteps better hope this helped

Yea there is no eq or app for PC however on the phone Sony has a pretty good and comprehensive app you can use with the headphones and EQ the sound turn on ldac and high performance modes and tune the noise cancelling and setup a custom button to do whatever you like

I have both Razer blackshark v2 pro, and Sony xm3. Have to agree, Sony sounds better, and noise cancel is obviously super when traveling, but also nice at home sometimes. I use razer when gaming online on PC, cus it has great microphone, and wireless is just way faster to connect then bluetooth. And it's kinda nice to have one HP here, and another there, if that makes sense. When traveling, watchig movies on the TV, and when gaming on ps5 I use Sony. I just put a cable into the ps5 controller, or BT connect it to TV for movies. I wonder if I can put the Razer mic on the sony headset if I were to game online on ps5?

I havent been able to play on the XM4, u have way too much bass

Back when this vid was made I was super new to making videos and the yapping was definitely excessive and unnecessary. I didn't really know any better.
