Sony WM FX39 Walkman Repair

I just ordered one. Most of my cassettes are from the 80s and early 90s (mostly pop and rock) that are Dolby B, with some HX PRO, so a Walkman from '93 seemed like a perfect fit.

Se existe um modo de concertar um aparelho Sony Walkman da linha WM XF39 então é possível. Eu aprendi muito com esse vídeo e o vídeo permite aproximar a imagem e fica muito melhor observar os detalhes de perto.

I got the Sony WM FX38 from ebay, in my case humming noise from the motor was eliminated by lubricating the motor with a bit of oil and silicone-based cleaner.

This is good to know some of mine are doing this, i was not sure if it was bad caps i will lubricate the motors .

This model seems to be the last model that unashamedly is a “Walkman”. The later ones focused on being sleek with designs trying to not look like a cassette player in a market taken over by the CD. It’s also the last radio Walkman with a cassette window.

If I route my belt the same way as you as mine fell out and the wheels don't turn does that mean it needs a new belt, everything turns if I spin it myself with the belt routed but turn it on and doesn't turn :(

Ese modelo de mecanismo clasico de los walkmans tienen auto stop en la funcion retroceder y adelantar ?? Tengo uno con el mismo mecanismo y funciona el auto stop para el play, pero con FF y REW nada... No anda el autostop ¿Es normal?

Hi, my walkman has a problem that when I put batteries in it, even if I don't press play, the cassette starts spinning and it won't turn off. What can I do?

AVLS limits volume level to protect your hearing..
