I think it looks good in this review, BUT it looks great in 85”. Especially for the price I paid! I have 5 boys and all are gamers and if it looks good enough for them, it’s good enough for me👌🏾 I’m not too meticulous about blooming or local dimming zones and as far as I can tell, it’s very minimal. (Blooming) Not even close to anything to freak out over. What I really care about is real world usage and how it holds up. This one definitely doesn’t disappoint! It’s picture and color caption is simply amazing. I bought 2 TV’s. The 77” A80K OLED and this one and my wife is very much partial to this one and ofc happy wife, happy life! 💪🏾 IMHO they are pretty damn close. Great review! Maybe it’s just me but the 85” is superior to its smaller brothers 🙌🏾👍🏾

Another great video! After watching many hours of content I settled on the 75” QN800A. Reasons include: 1) Needed a 75-85” 2) 3K budget 3) Better pixel density 4) Build quality 5) Going into a bright living room mid-rise. 6) One-Connect box is essential for my setup. Hopefully mine looks as good as the one you installed in the modern house. Looking forward to setting it up early August. I don’t know how y’all have gotten so efficient at boxing & unboxing those large TV’s but I appreciate y’all providing the great content. Btw, I can’t wait to see the A95K in person. I hear it’s the new benchmark in 2022.

Everyone says this and that are the future , nobody knows and cares. Even the most brilliant minds of the past were way off in their predictions. Just enjoy the tech and analyze the pros and cons. I personally would never buy OLED just due to the nature of the design. Organic materials will decay over time, and I don't like the idea of spending alot of money knowing its performance will degrade over time. Of course engineers will figure out some way to compensate for this or new tech altogether.

@@ajwtf6539 The sound on the Z9K is very good and balanced with decent bass though it wont shake your house. It also supports Dolby Vision or whatever the sound version is and does a decent job of throwing sound all over the room by itself. I don't know if the X95k has exactly the same speaker setup but I think it's similar. If you don't care to have the best sound without a sound bar or dedicated 7.1 system it would probably be OK for you. My Vizio 5.1 sound bar sounds better and has way better bass so if you already have a decent sound bar use it.

Thanks for the unpacking tutorial. I just received my X95K today and I am preparing to unpack and setup. I got this set at a great outlet deal, end of model year so finally trading up from a 10-year-old Samsung edge lite. The 55" Samsung is still going strong with an excellent picture so it will go into my home office. I would have purchased another Samsung, but I really wanted to have Doby Vision capability. Hate the fact that big companies still cannot get along (Doby Vision versus HDR10+) as it feels like the Betamax versus VHS wars all over again! Thanks for a great introduction and product review.

Hi Brandon, The rumor was true, the 85" X95K has much better picture quality than the 65". I spent over an hour at the store playing with A90J, A80J, X95K, x90K, Qn900b, Qn800B, Qn90B. I know the store manager and he let me borrow the remotes of the tvs. The X95K 85" not only has far better picture quality than the 65" x95k , but also has better picture quality than the A90J 77". The highlights pops on the x95K and it makes the A90j look so dull. I do have to the say the QN900B has crisper picture than the x95k due to the 8k upscaling, but the x95k has much more accurate colors. The colors on the QN900B are so saturated along with the S95B. I would say the X95K offers the best overall picture quality out of all the tvs I tested , but the QN900B looks the sharpest especially the edges of the objects on the tv, but it was only noticeable when I stood 4 feet away or closer from the tvs. I will be picking up the 85" X95K tomorrow. Also, what shocked me was that the S95B already had burned in issue and the manager told me that the tv was only 3weeks old 😱.

The thing i would look at is the same thing i do with any LCD TV,backlight inconsistencies and a clean grey slide image. The one you had there looked pretty good with not much dse. I am hoping next years version X95L will be better in blooming/haloing. It feels like the current old MediaTek is holding it back. So more zones and new Pentonic 2000 SoC could do a lot. I really hope Sony is not going to be stuck on this low Zone count for years to come like they did on the old FALD. That would be plain stupid. Samsung has 720 zones for 65". A big difference.. Sony looks so good in processing, so they need to improve the zones.

I've narrowed it down to the 77a80k and the 75x95k both are the same price. should i just wait for next years models? will the performance jump be very significant unlike last years models and this years models? ive played my friends ps5 on the a80k and watched movies and everything was incredible. a very big step up from my 65x900e. the owner at my local mom and pop shop told me the only burn in cases he's had to deal with have all been with lg, but that it still is a potential problem if i was playing the same game for insane hours for weeks on end. but he also noted that with cutscenes and transitions, that would negate that.
@loki76

@@saphireg8094 If you like the A80K you can go for that. I don't know if it still have the problem with dimming 50% when gaming and having a "HUD" like static content on the screen. 95K is great, it's just that it has more blooming or more noticeable than one would expect for a MiniLED and so expensive. I wanted it and I skipped it because of that reason. I am still on my 900E. So personally I am just waiting for next year and hoping it will be improved. It will be the second year so they might learn and do improvements. And if they go with the new more powerful mediatek chip that could certainly change a lot. But it depends on if Sony makes use of it.. Their "zone count" is far too low on 95K and even the Z9K. I don't know why.

I enjoy watching you both put new televisions together. It's almost like watching the cooking channel discussing different foods and restaurants. One of the first things I didn't like about this Sony television is the leg or stand. When they start making televisions with the legs on each end instead of a center stand, this was a turn off to me as a consumer. I recently purchased the Samsung 65" Class S95B OLED 4K Smart TV (2022). One of the things that attractive me about this OLED television, the stand is in the middle. If it weren't, I wouldn't have purchased it. You have to have a special long table to place televisions on as you did with this Sony television. It if had a middle stand, it would sit on a much smaller table or television stand.

It is a really really nice TV. Thank you for the review! I suppose SONY should just throw away the anti-reflection coating, to bring back the era of their high native contrast (~6.000:1 and beyond) VA-paneled televisions again, and to get rid of that annoying "rainbow effect". Also there is still a lot of place to improve the FALD zone count. Hopefully in the not far future they would decide so... :)

Large AV panels without the X-Wide coating only look good if you sit dead center and the edges aren't to far you your sides. If you are more than one person and have a large screen that you sit closer to, you will start to see horrible gamma shift towards the edges. Yes you get 6000:1 in contrast, but only dead on, the further you look to the edges the lower the contrast and the gamma starts to rise. It's better to sacrifice some contrast and have uniform look from very wide angles and also eliminating that terrible gamma rise.

Didn't some think the X95K was going to be the reincarnation of the Sony Z9D since it has the so called blacklight master drive? In terms of light control the X95K has to be a big disappointment to them as it's more similar to the Z9F.

hello I hope you can help me on this matter I have a sony xr65x95j tv, and it doesn't support seek technology on my remote. I bought the rmf tx900 remote control. Everything worked with it except finding my remote. It did not work. I think there is an app installed by the company on a95k, a90k and x95k TVs... It is not available in My TV. Is it possible to search on your xr a95k tv in the app list for the special app, i think its name is remote finder or something else? thank you so much
