Got my lady the Solo3's and the Sony's for me. Tried em both and I must say I'm very pleased with the Sony's. One major thing that wasn't mentioned is that when plugged in using the wire the Sony's can still be powered on which keeps the bass feature and sound quality at it's best as for the Solo3's power off as soon as they're connected via wire. Also I have a Sony 4k UHD TV that is Bluetooth compatible with the Sony headphones as the Solo3's are not. The decision is flawless here.

Beats are garbage. Sony is amazing. Beats sound quality deserve a price tag of less than $100 but Sony being cheaper has the sound quality of over $400 Sony just sounds amazing. Even the built quality. Beats feel like plastic and Sonys feel much more durable for sure. I am so happy with my XB950N1 my beats broke less than a year later and I was not impressed by the sound quality. But sony is great. I love both Sony and Bose.

Beats solo 3, nice bass not to deep though, excellent split sound between each side, high volume, over a month without charging just 1hour daily 3/4 volume, I keep them on my bag inside a Tupperware haha, range is about 30 feet with walls.

I just got the n1s and well okay. Beats are more comfortable and they pair so easy to iPhones let’s get that out that. Other than that sound experience wise Sony wins hands down the bass boost mode slaps hard. They are comfortable but the top head band kinda is bothersome. But for 200 dollars cheaper your getting a better sound experience and a pretty damn good pair of headphones.

Good review. I heard the 950bt and the mid bass is a little too much. The mids aren't as clear as I like because of that. There is also not enough high end sparkle. If the 950n1 sounds like them then I definitely disagree that they sound better than the solo 2 (never heard the solo 3). The mids are cleaner on the solo 2. I don't like my solo 2 because they are simply not comfortable. They hurt after a good while. Sony is more comfortable but don't look as good on the head or sound as good. One last thing. The bluedio vinyl plus is the best sounding Bluetooth headphones I've ever heard. They sound better than the Bluedio victory pro and many other good sounding headphones.

If you haven't yet you should play around with an equaliser or two if you find certain frequency ranges lacking. I have had some sub 10$ earphones that were astoundingly horrible out of the box. All it took was some EQing and they came to life. They began bangin left, right and centre(Visualiser in mind). Some headphones respond really well to equalisers so it may be worth the try. Burn-in is also a fact that should be considered when trying out a headphone for the first time. I have experienced this so many times with new headphones. There are some stupid chumps over at reddit that say burn-in period is some sort of myth or marketing tactic used by audio engineers. Idiots that don't even try to comprehend the intricacies of the physical laws at play in the transmission and reproduction of sound especially with regards to dynamic drivers. This goes to show that there are a lot of buffoons giving reviews and advice in audio forums online. But as a reprieve, maybe these audio gurus have yet to experience the "wonders" of burn-in coz there are high-end audio companies that actually put all of their headphones through thorough audio tests thereby burning them in before packaging and shipping them to our esteemed high-end "audiophiles". With "budget" headphones you never know with quality control. Its always a gamble. Bluedio aren't spared this criticism either. They have some faulty units every now and then and there are many victims that can attest to this you included. Their multiple driver technology is a hit and miss. A lot of attention has to go into the circuitry and soldering of each dedicated driver. Couple this with the fact that they mass produce these bad boys and you have fucked up quality control from bluedio. That's why their simpler single driver headphones like the vinyls have all around good reviews from satisfied customers. Their ufos and victories are a gamble.
