I'm already a Sony headphone fan because I use the MDR 7506 for my video editing at work, so I figured I like Sony's approach to headphones. However, after several reviews I found yours to be the most informative for what I needed to know to make my choice and I am extremely happy with the xb950N1s. Bass - better to have more than enough and be able to turn it down than not have enough in a pair of cans that can't handle bass. Thanks for the review.

Just picked up a pair of these yesterday and am really loving them. I found out a third new color has come out. Gray. Best Buy has it listed as "Titanium". It's the one I got. Thanks for your wonderful reviews it helped me make up my mind. I do love bass. It's odd Sony just randomly released a new color but I hope they keep it up. I'd love these in turquoise or just even more color choices like you get with the h.ear on.

I personally only have the 1000x, they sound great my biggest issue is that you can feel lots of cabin pressure due to the noise cancelling. Seeing that the msrp is twice the price of the 950's you really can't compare

Is the build quality still garbage? 2 pairs of my BT's broke and I only use them at home behind my PC and I DON'T throw them around or anything crazy like that. They Both broke on the excact same spot, The hinges where the earcups rotate. It is a really common spot where they break. People who break these, break them on the excact same spot... So I am really wondering if the build quality got any better? because the sound profile is amazing and I have not found any other pair that I like as much as the BT's, but I dont want to invest 250 usd in something that will break within 2 months...

I've never had luck with the Sony XB (Xtra Bass) line of headphones. They work well but they always tend to break/snap leaving the wire dangling. I try to fix it but can never do a good job and end up selling it on eBay for parts/repairs and then buying a new set of headphones. Do you think I'll run into that issue? I tend to spend probably up to $200 (max) on headphones but prefer to spend about $150. The 950 BT is the one that I had last and it snapped on the plastic part that connects the headband to the ear cups (the flat plastic part).

Yikes that sucks to hear. I wouldn't say I noticed much change in the build quality compared to the first ones so I'm not sure if you won't run into the same issue. I've never had any issues with my Sonys in terms of durability but everyone uses their stuff differently. How did that end up happening to yours?

Kovid Rupauliha if you get a 3.5mm male to male Aux cable and a Bluetooth receiver that has a female 3.5mm port than yes you can but you would need alot of adapters if the mac book doesn't already have a 3.5mm port (because 3.5mm is just too thick right?)

how about for actual bass headphones you test the jvc sz2000. spend a little extra and get an amp and a pad change. If you want bass, listen to those. If youre a true bass head you wont worry about looks and shit you want true bass. Before you respond to this comment, no. They arent bluetooth. No they arent super good looking. But if you want the best bass headphones, look them up. Search jvc sz2000 bass test on youtube. Then try and talk about bass. True bass.

Good luck to your ears and health. Skullcandy's build materials are possibly carcinogenic because they apparently don't pass the tests performed by anticancer regulatory bodies. The haptic vibrations that the crusher wireless is notorious for will fuck up your eardrums and cochlea hairs. I'd rather not take the risk even though this body is gonna age and die either way.

Quite a few have better bass representation: Fostex TH-900, Audeze LCD2, LCD3, Sennheiser HD650, Sony MDR-Z1R, Focal Elear. Even the Audio Tecnica M50 and M40 have better bass performance than these or their predecessors.

I absolutely love my 950bts I listen to a lot of bass boosted songs so these are awesome and they are incredible comfortable even with glasses which I wear! I've worn these for over 8 hours straight before and didn't notice anything and I have a massive head!!
