Price is OK IMO. U can get a full cinematic experience with its display and audio that u cant even dream of any other smartphone, Great and guaranteed long battery life, Top notch spec including outstanding RAM management, No screen cut out whatsoever, Jack, Superb camera software.

Re: The missed taps. If you have a look at the 4 characters at 12:57 they move a few pixels. It seems Android believes you are dragging rather than tapping. That's one of the problems with very high pixel density.

Sony phones tend to have good pre-order deals in the UK if you keep an eye out. My 1ii was £799 with some free XM3 headphones from o2 last year.

I was going to hold out for this phone, but at £1,200 it's just too expensive. I just got the S21 Ultra 256GB on Prime Day for £954, that plus the £150 cashback with Samsung means an S21 Ultra for £804. Sorry Sony, I'm not waiting another 2 months & paying 50% more for this.

Although you can't uninstall the mandatory apps, if you disable them they disappear from the menu. This at least gets rid of the clutter!

Glad you have it to test it! You are among top best testers! 1. Touch is a problem of app adaptation and if you look in Xperifirm 1 III already have an upgrade. 2. Sony is just amazing.. I've been using only sony mobiles in the past 6 years and I can absolutely say that even with all these advancements in Android versions, various phones with their UI's and everything won't beat a the elegance that one can experience in a mid-range Sony device. I'm currently using XA1 plus on Android oreo and just the tech, design, phone build and quality still amazes me and I've never even had a thought of changing to some other mobile that is more advanced.

To be brutally honest with you, the top end phones like this are way out of people's budget now. Talking to a friend who works in a phone shop, he was saying that most of the action is in the mid range blowers. People are just unwilling to pay for the units that are over a grand!

It's simple math. You can buy 4 good $300 phones over 12 years for the cost of one "flagship" phone for 5 years. That way you don't even need to waste money on insurance, because having the next $300 is cheaper. People are smarter than given credit for. As long as you don't need anything more, why buy anything more? My 5 year old flagship is basically on par with a $300 phone (some better, some worse), but it ran out of storage and OS updates. All the built in obsolescence is too blame (not too mention decreased features). Not having 5 year OS and security updates. Battery decline after 3 years and replacement trashes the waterproofing. Some $20 phones are quite functional, if you just need calls, text & maps. This phone costs more than an entry level gaming laptop and those are even outside of many's budgets. Asking $1300 for a 2-3 year device just doesn't make sense. That's on top of spending that much or more a year for cell service. My first ever smartphone msrp was $699 10 years ago (but I paid 249). My 5 yo flagship was $600, but I just paid service payments. The midrange now is the same cost as someone's last flagship. Not Sony, but many just takes away features and try to force people into expensive accessories. So many things have doubled in price, but not the wages. People who used to have discretionary money, now cannot even cover necessities.

There should be more phones rocking wireless charging, headphone jack, non-curvy display and a notification led. Tempted for this one but I hear you can't flip the on screen buttons over. Also I'm not sure if the 21:9 would annoy me.

I was sceptical of the 21:9 but with split screen its perfect, i can have youtube open portrait filling the top 1/3rd of the screen, and the rest of the screen is almost identical to my old sony screen. Full screening KZbin 16:9 videos into 21:9 hardly ever has negatives. Never seen a way to flip the back button to the right.
