Tricky. Like both. Think the SP has a better feel and is a little more robust with less glass.

Viewing angles are similar to the Xperia Z. As for lag we cant really say we noticed any lag.

Are the usb hard drives formatted in FAT32? I had the sort of same problem with Samsung galaxy note 10.1, and the internet says it may be the NTFS file system isn't readable for Android

I think it won't read a USB drive if it's formatted as NTFS.
