NO!! stop asking for 2k/4k screens on phones, its UNNECESSARY, it only hurts gaming performance, battery life (I have a z3 compact and its just PERFECT and gaming performance rocks.) and you wont even notice it at that distance, PC screens are barely jumping to 1440p as a standard and you are asking for it on phones. stop it, please.

If you have good vision, you can definitely see the benefits of a 2k screen, especially at 5.5" or more. And who views their smartphones at a distance? Samsung has proven that 2k does not have to mean bad battery life. I agree that 1080p is adequate, but 2k is hardly unnecessary.

Just to confirm the Z3+ is actually the Z4. Apparently in the UK and some other countries it's had to be renamed to the Z3+ because other manufacturers already have electrical goods with the Z4 branding.

The new waterproof connector is definitely a welcome addition. I have a Z2 and probably some of the best upgrades the Z3+ features would be the wet touchscreen driver as it would seem both Z2 and Z3 suffer from being unusable and register other touches when they're wet. Also like Z3+ reverted to the low profile speaker/mic set up that the Z2 has. Personally looks better than Z3.

Why remove the docking charger ports? I always use the docking charger as it protects the waterproof seals and ir can be used as a phone stand. I hope they bring it back on future releases!

I'm planing on buying Xperia Z3+ for this new year and i hear that the phone gets very hot on performing basic functions like browsing and gets more hot when using the camera. I've been using my Xperia Z for multimedia usage, browsing and gaming (MKX and Asphalt) on a daily basis and my phone gets hot every now and then , but how does Z3+ take it? Can i go ahead and buy the handset without worrying about the heat issue?

Just got my first sony mobile device(z3). Best experience ever with android so far. Slim os, fast, great battery life, thin, nice design, and a good camera. My recent phones had 2k/4k screens. The little difference is so not worth it. Sony stick to 1080p displays plz.

The original Z3 had great stereo speakers. One of the best I've experienced. Louder =/= Better. Anyway, besides that I find it's a minor step-up from Z3. Will see how the Z5/Z4+ fares.

I can enjoy the luxury of 2k on a screen and appreciate that . I cannot however see the need for it . My original note at 1280×800 is gorgeous still even though it's old . More noticeable than resolution is the colour vibrancy and brightness . My original note has vibrancy nailed that even modern phones lack in . My Note 3 has the same vibrancy but a higher resolution that I appreciate , but even more than that , the barely slightly brighter screen . 1080p on a smartphone is epic regardless of the almost paper like experience that 2k brings . I'd rather have brightness and vibrancy over resolution any day as I'm still amazed by my N7000 and truly love it . Also it's ironic that other smartphones in the same calibre have better cameras . This isn't true hardware wise but in terms of software they're superior . Samsung uses Sony lenses but have far better software and chose the OIS option. I still prefer the brighter screen , 1080p , 810 processor and quality of the Z3 over any of the Samsung phones . Same performance but I'm willing to compromise vibrancy for brightness and ( fresh ) waterproofing any time of the decade

2k is not 1440 x2560 1440p is quadhd not 2k 2k is 2048 x 1080p it is also a DCI resolution meaning you wont find it anywhere but cinema most likely

I love Sony phones as I've owned the z1 and z2 but I feel they charge too much here in the US to own one. If they can get the carrier situation under control and lower the price a bit i feel this would be one of my favorites out of the current group

Joe Hartley Thats why I picked up a Z3 barely used for $450 even though I knew this was coming out. I would say the differences are not worth $250. Either way, Sony is targeting Samsung and Apple not middle of the pack pricing like Asus and LG. Too bad they don't have the marketing to match.

Im getting a Z3+ because it has 32GB internal storage. I have a Xperia TX and it only has 16GB - everything Sony to date has been still stuck on 16GB - the MicroSD storage is useless for apps.

810 overheating issue has been confirmed in the official release version. What a joke. I was looking forward to getting this phone and now they screw up by using a processor which is known to have issues. Just as bad as HTC. Yes, they will release a software update but it will underclock the processor making it pointless. Sony, just recall the Z3 Plus and replace the processor with one that works, such as the 808.

i can confirm heating problem is solved with new firmware update (32.2.A.0.224) for this phone. I simultaneously charge and do youtube game and everything possible to make it heat up but it not does not get higher than 42°C which earlier was 47°C Max and being normal was between 40 to 45°C for no reason. 😁 I am soo much happy and yes they brought back stamina mode which i don't see a real use of it although if used with Ultra Stamina mode you could get the most of your phone left battery.

+element3663 Open camera while charging after 5mins it will warn you about temperature and in 7-8mins it will shut down. Do not open or close camera app too frequently it will heat up the device rather fast than using it constantly. Using apps like B612, CandyCamera, Camera 360 Ultimate and other apps never have problem with heating in the phone. Those apps just goes and goes till the battery run out.

No idea why Sony keep releasing these devices with absolutely abysmal audio output. I have listened to the device and you can barely hear anything with any earphones attached. The volume is really, really low and I think that none of the big manufacturers put any emphasize on audio quality, except for HTC.

Kosovar Biçkaj well thx i ended up buying a galaxy s7.. it heats as any other modern phone but is not an issue because i have a case so i avoid having direct contact with my hand which will make it even hotter because hand already is hot. it works ok for pokemon and battery life is more than i expected.
