That was a great and really nice looking review. You should run your jerky walking and bike shots through Sony’s “catalyst browse” software as the gyro data the camera records lets that software do amazing things with stabilisation! Even if it’s turned off!

"The best everything video camera" was a solid definition of this camera because with you I agree that 16/18 or even 20 would have been a better starting point! Thank you for the excellent video. I am thinking of getting one of these with a gimbal to capture my family/kid's videos. I am torn between Sony ZV-1 and Sony ZV E10. I prefer ZV-1 for its compactness and digitally controlled zoom capability but I like ZV E10's image quality. The question is, on the gimbal can we use ZV-1's digitally controlled zoom without hampering the Gimbal's balance? If not, If we need to use the fixed zoom on the gimbal so that we don't hamper its balance, I prefer to go with ZV E10. There are tons of videos with ZV-1 and a gimbal but I failed to find one that explains ZV-1's zoom functionality on a gimbal.

Can the battery be charged while in camera? That's one of many great things I love about the G7x Mark II... while in the woods for the day or camping for the weekend I can use an Anker battery and charge my camera. Surprised by how many times I really needed the ability to do that.

How good do you think it would be for lowlight concert photography/video from say a front row spot where 28-30mm is the entire stage? I'm searching for something compact. I had been looking at the RX100 series cams.

Really like this camera and its great to see Sony putting a focus on a video centred RX100. Though like you say in the video 24mm is just enough and means with steady shot enabled you're cropping in even more. Yes a lot of content creators use a gorillapod or some other form of tripod but then all that bulk takes away the benefit of a compact camera being compact. Hopefully if there is enough interest and take up of this camera they will put some development into a wider lens, like the 18-50mm we where supposed to see on the Nikon DL cameras that never released. Then you could use the 18mm for wide shots incorporating your surroundings and the steady shot when you want smooth video but not too cropped in.

@@Ben.Royals I think Nikon cited budget problems for why they didn't go into production for the three compact cameras. It was very disappointing as 18-50 would have suited me, and many others, perfectly as an everyday zoom range.

God damn, how do you get such amazing colours and grading from the zv-1!? I've bought it myself, and while the colours are nice enough, I haven't been able to get anywhere near what you get out of it! And neither has anyone else, in my opinion. At least not on KZbin

Good Presentation my Friend, Sony's New ZV-1 Looks a Great Tool for Vloggers much improvement over what was previously available, Few points worth noting from my point of view is that the widest angle on the zoom the 24mm is not wide enough for Vlogging purposes its just about on the limites,certainly not useable when the image is cropped,therefore Sony should have offered a wide angle attachment Second point the stabilisation system in my opinion is limited,it's ok for static shot but useless for fast moving shots, using the Active Setting is not that bad but not brilliant either, better use a Gimbal Crane for the ultimate in smooth tracking shots, Lastly the built in audio is reasonable by Vlogging standards but a bit suspect when use with the Dead Cat Muff in High Winds, overall best to use a of board Rhode Wireless Microphone or Directional Microphone with Muffs for High Winds which is I am sure will be more satisfactory Finally I don't believe there is any thread on the ZV-1 camera lens so how can one use a Polarizing Filter One final point the camera doesn't have headphone jack input

He's not going to say because he's trying to sell them and get a commission. 1) overheating issues 2) mics are forward facing directional so it only sounds good when you are directly in front of the camera, if you are on any other side you'll sound muffled 3) no mode dial, no pop up flash, no pop up evf 4) screen doesn't rotate forward a full 180 degrees so it won't be perfectly lined up with your line of sight when facing the camera 5) cheap lcd screen that cannot be seen while wearing polarized sunglasses

You misunderstood how the Product Showcase mode works. You don't need to block your face with the object. You just move it closer. The reviews by "Potato Jet" and iJustine show it much more clearly. It's really impressive. You can put the object and NOT block your face, and it will still shift the focus.

Doesn’t this camera have an issue with heating up? Even with the high temp setting you only get 1hr max before the battery blows up and need a hella cool down before using again

I’m gonna ask a very stupid question, and I’m sorry for that: besides the bokeh (which is very important!) and low light capability, what exactly are the advantages of a camera like this over the iPhone 11 Pro? I can attach a mic to it, it produces great video, polar pro nd filter is a breeze, and I have a 4K camera on my phone. So... why should I spend 799 on a half professional camera? (I have the eos r as a professional camera). Why is everyone so excited?

If you have an EOS R you might consider this as a secondary camera but you may not be in the market for a compact video camera. Remover that the R would be overkill for a lot of people

The video quality doesnt look good to me. I've seen some video footages of that camera and it doesnt look smooth and sometimes it looks choppy eventhough in normal speed.

If you’ve seen any choppy footage that’s the fault of the shooter not the camera. There are things to complain about, but choppiness isn’t a problem
