Awesome video as always. I think what I like most about your videos is the fact that you give a real opinion. You put yourself out there, and choose a direction, instead of just saying, "but it's really just up to you." I think people always know it's up to them, but I also think it's helpful when you lay out the reasons for deciding to go in a certain direction, and then boldly stating, "so this is clearly the way to go." I think there's much more value to a video like that, and I think that's what most people are actually looking for. People are always going to ultimately do what they want to do, but a strong opinion, and clear reasons leading up to that opinion, are really valuable.

Enjoying your informative information, thanks. I’m a Nikon fanboy of many years standing , shooting both FF and aspc, going back to 35 mm film days and developing and printing my efforts. I live in the Philippines now where the indigenous citizens actually embrace being photographed. I need to remain unobtrusive though, needed a small piece of equipment that would allow me to remain largely anonymous..I have a Nikon Z50 but it’s too bulky to fit those requirements..enter the Sony ZV-E10 cw a 10-20 mm f4 , what a revelation. I don’t vlog I’m just a still shooter , so I just work around the lack of an EVF no problem. The 16-50 variable lens that came with the Sony is so sweet to use. Got the 35mm prime also. I find your manner of delivery so easy to take in and listen to. Nice pace of articulation too. I mainly shoot monochrome being inspired by Daido Moriyama . Thanks again.

I would say go with the ZV E10 since you already have an A6400. There are some features that are nice to have. Things like Gyroscope data, headphone output, screen that rotates out and a few more things. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!👍🏾

I went with the ZV-E10 and am loving it. When I first got it I felt like the stabilization was pretty bad, especially coming from taking video with an iPhone, but somehow after using it for a couple of weeks my results look way better even before doing anything in catalyst. Not sure how that happened, guess I just got better at holding the camera. I’d say I’m to the point now that my videos with zero stabilization look about as good as they did on day one with active stabilization turned on. And catalyst does an amazing job with the footage. Only thing I don’t like about it is having to crank up the shutter speed…especially since I’m still on the kit lens and sometimes really need that extra light going down to 24p @ 1/50. That’s the one thing that still has me looking at gimbals. But all in all, I really am digging the ZV-E10. Coming from the OG RX100, it feels pretty liberating to be able to start getting nice lenses for different types of photography.

@@dr.s5688 for me it has been amazing. I added the Sony 35mm 1.8 lens to my gear and have gotten a lot of great shots with it as well as the kit lens. Some photo oriented reviewers have mentioned they have a big issue with the camera not having a viewfinder and I see their point…sometimes in the bright outdoors it’s hard to really gauge the exposure etc but I just click away and haven’t had any issues I couldn’t make look good in post. Your comment came at the perfect time, I just went to a weeding last weekend and took the camera with us to get a bunch of shots of us dressed up and having a good time and they came out amazing. Very happy with it.

Very clear presentation. Very nice content. I am still on the fence on which one to get. I like the evf, body, and controls of the A6400 as I have used Canon 550D from the past. But I like swivel LCD, gyro data, and other easy functions on the ZV E10. I won't be doing professional work, just for family casual shooting and I am the "default" photographer in our family. If only the ZV E10 has an evf, it would be an easy decision for me. Currently leaning towards ZV E10 at the moment as it is still much cheaper than A6400.

Those are all valid points! I will say that the good thing about the ZV-E10 is it's resale value! If you were to pick one up and didn't like it, you could always sell it and use that money towards the A6400. Since the lenses are the same, you could keep the lenses! I hope this helps. Either one is fine. The BIGGER question for music videos is location, lighting , story blocking , camera movements and set design! These all play a MUCH bigger role than just the camera you are using! You can use a CELL PHONE if you get these things👆🏾right! Lastly, I would recommend connecting an external monitor to your camera, this way you can monitor your picture on a larger screen! This is KEY🔑 when shooting music videos! I’m a KZbinr myself , when I first started I grabbed the canon m50 and now I have the a6400 for almost a year now. But , I wanted to start taking shots on my camera as well as other things pertaining videography. I thought about upgrading to a full frame or the zv10 to get that much more cleaner and crisper look but I don’t know. I think I might stay with the a6400 and get the sigma 16mm. What you think ?

First off great work on being a KZbinr! It’s hard work! Since KZbin is hard work, the key 🔑 is to keep your camera 🎥 setup as simple and easy as possible! I like the smaller APS-C cameras for hand holding while vlogging! If you have the A6400 just keep it and get the Sigma 16mm 1.4 or the Rokinon 12mm 2.0 AF. I hope this helps! 🙏🏽

In a6000 series, there is very soft video in 1080p. Is there any this kind of issues in ZV-E10 ? Please let me know

“Soft video” is subjective, some may see the 1080 from these cameras as soft, some may see it as pleasing. 🤷🏽‍♂️ There are also many factors that affect the final output of 1080 from this camera. Lens choice, aperture, focus. This isn’t the BEST 1080 camera 🎥 available or even close to it. (Personally) I always shoot in 4K unless I’m doing sow motion! (Which isn’t often)! Lastly this is the same sensor that’s in the other Sony APS-C cameras. Some of it is true. The ZV E10 has more features than the 6100. Features like Gyroscope stabilization, Slog and a few more. They A6100 does have a viewfinder though. Yes you absolutely can control the ZV E10 with your phone using the Sony Play Memories App. It allows you to stop 🛑 start recording, adjust settings like F-stop and Aperture and also select focus! One dought Electronic viewfinder is it really that bad in daylight to see. My main purpose is photos secondary thing is youtube. In the detailed review of Z e 10 u showed us we can control with smartphone some controls so will it be helpfull like EV finder. Can we see photos after it taken in smartphone.

I don't want to go with canon due to their lens restrictions and I'm confused if the ZV-e10 is good for me because its really affordable in my country. I don't use the EVF and don't know whether i should just get the a6100 due to the EVF which i can practice with for future. As a beginner, what do you suggest for me, the zv e10 or the a6100?

Honestly if you are a beginner, the camera you choose almost doesn't matter. What matters MOST if will you KEEP picking up your camera and using it once you get it. Honestly there is no PERFECT camera. Watching reviews on KZbin will KEEP you in a state of fear of buying the WRONG piece of gear. Get the camera you can afford the most and start going from there. Solving issues with your camera is the thing that will cause your skills to GROW! Having a superior came only helps A LITTLE when you know what you are doing! I hope this help! If you are going to be MOSTLY doing photography, go with the A6400! They both will last a long time depending on how well you take care of it! Dropping it, getting is wet and abusing it will shorten the lifespan of the camera. Getting a cage, carrying it in a nice bag and protecting it will make it last for YEARS to come! I hope this helps! I unfortunately I don’t know enough about the Z30 to make a comparison. What I do know is that EVERY CAMERA is going to have its strengths and weaknesses. The key is to hone in on WHAT you will be filming and HOW you will be filming it. This will help you narrow down the camera that’s best for you. So, with 65-70% of my future camera work being video podcasts, I believe your recommendation would be the ZVE10. However, there are three things that I currently see as currently see as cons, the plastic feel, the size and number EVF. I have big hands and the tiny camera and plastic feel reminds me of a toy and cheap. And then no evf , is framing pictures difficult with the poor quality screen Sony provides, especially in full sun? Thoughts or input? Are those “cons” worth considering the 6400?

It's really hard to say what will be a problem and what won't be. If you will be indoors PRIMARILY, I don't foresee getting the ZV-E10 being a problem. The biggest issue with the ZV-E10 outdoors is being able to see the screen in VERY bright sunlight! If you are "WORRIED" about this, look into sun hoods simply NOT shooting in bright sunlight. Where I live this camera costs 132 dollars more than the A6000 with kit for just the body only? For stills and starting out on photography..which choice is better? Asking because A6000 is released in 2014 and ZV is new

The A73 is available at $1500 open box at big stores (full warranty/ return as if it were new). I’m looking at doing video (already have a Canon 5d3 w L lenses). So, should I get the Sony ZV-E10 for $800 (only available with kit lens at the moment), so I’m still looking to spend $800 on great(???) lens - but it will be cropped. OR Pay $700 more for a full frame? I hate losing the native zoom on a lens due to crop. I’ll be shooting low light, and essentially b-roll. The articulating screen isn’t necessary. Oh, autofocus is important. OR - is the A7S3 really worth the financial stretch so that I buy the body once, and I’m set for a few years?

Honestly it depends on a few things. How proficient are you with cameras? Are you a novice, intermediate or expert? The reason why I ask this is because your skill level will determine how much you are able to get out of either camera. The A7S3 is a better camera (on paper) but it comes down to your knowledge about lighting, color grading, editing, composition and storytelling. I am of the mindset that MOST people don't need anything greater than an APS-C camera. The hype and glory shines on the Full Frame because it's what professionals who get on KZbin endorse! Full frame isn't cheap! One can end up paying 5-8K on a body and a couple lenses alone! If you are doing KZbin.. I don't see the value in spending that kinda cash! I agree with your mindset, "...MOST people don't need anything greater than an APS-C camera" - since I strongly feel that even an iPhone in the hands of someone who really knows what they're doing can create beautiful work. I would say I am somewhere in the intermediate area (started on film, developing my own prints, transitioned to digital, but have been fighting switching to mirrorless) - but there is plenty to learn. I see that mirrorless tech. has improved so much, but I feel the tech. is still rather new (still in its infancy). So, I have been holding off on going full frame (my current Canon 5d3 is still excellent for photography). Seeing that the A73 was available (essentially new) for just a bit more than the ZV-E10, I figured I'd consider it (the low-light gains, and better shutter roll from the full-frame A73). I do hate to buy and replace equipment all the time, and would rather buy once and hold for many years - and that is where the A7s3 thought popped in. I actually don't need to go this route yet, but I am curious if the A73 ($1500) is a better buy over the ZV-E10 ($800) - since I think I'll need to buy a much better lens for the ZV-E10 to make up for the crop, and for better low-light, where as, that won't be as necessary for the A73 - so the price for the final setup starts to get closer. The look you have on this video is exactly what I am looking for in a new camera. I only do video, basically I build computers part time, so I just want a camera that can give that same look you are going for here and showcase the computer's interiors once they are finish so I imagine for that low light is important. I primarily use the Sony A6400. The key to getting good low light shots is lighting! Many people think that low “performance” means shooting with almost no light but it just means shaping and controlling your light so that things are properly exposed. With that being said, you should be able to achieve this same look with the A6400 and good lens like the Sigma 16mm 1.4! I hope this helps! Both cameras can be used to record yourself on a tripod however, the ZV E10 is going to be much easier due to the flip out screen and the red recording ring around the flip out screen. Honestly I use it all. I can't even remember what settings I used for this specific video. Generally I don't shoot with any Picture Profiles thought. If I know I will be doing color work, I will shoot in S-Log2 or HLG. I use my Ninja V and false color to make sure I am properly exposed. A6400 is awesome but missing a headphone jack for monitoring. For videography it's important for me plus the audo in on the ZVE10 is a big plus

I hear you! You could always add an Atomos Ninja V which would add headphone monitoring via HDMI. There are also many wireless mic setups that allow you to record internally.
