Yep what @CrazyLiveStyle said the cinematic is used by Riot to tease the Ranked season of the League of Legends game like how last year the "Still Here" cinematic was used last year. There are also around 170 champs/characters in the League of Legends game. The cinematic also was used to introduce Mel as a new champ in game not really a teaser for a new show.

My belief is that this trailer served 3 purposes. First, a trailer for the game’s season. Second, an epilogue for Mel’s arc in Arcane and a setup for the Noxus show. Finally, a proof of concept for a new season to showcase non-League fan interest in the continuation of the shows. That being said, Riot releases one of these every year, so you guys have some catching up to do. Reaction worthy, if you ask me. 😏

09:44 - Fun fact, Katarina, the red haired woman, is actually in one of the few canon League ships and also probably it's oldest, with her pair being Garen, your usual righteous by the book himbo knight that fights for justice. Their dynamic is actually super cute, it's Romeo and Juliet, enemies to lovers, lose IQ near each other type stuff. They also try to hide their relationship due to being in opposing sides but it's literally Runeterra's worst kept secret. It's unlikely, but I do hope we see Garen in this series just to see them interact lol.

So normally I'd 100% agree with you, but I do know with 'Welcome to Noxus' a lot of reactors were getting copyrighted for the video because (and I haven't 100% confirmed this but this is what people were saying, so take it with a grain of salt) Riot only licensed the song (Bite Marks) and it wasn't a Riot Production/Commission. Idk if that's still a problem or not, but it was an issue to begin with (e.g. Necrit had to do the youtube music removal thing on his reaction).

People still have to be careful because while Riot is fine with reactions sometimes the artist is not. Example: reactions to the Lil Nas X - Star Walkin' cinematic were getting hit with copyright because of Lil Nas and not Riot. So when it's a new artist that riot hasn't worked with before most reacts mute the music just to be safe.

Ambessa was only a relatively small Warlord compared to the big shots like Swain, Darius, General Du Coteu, the Black Rose etc... At the end of Arcane the raven that flew by the ships were Swain's demonic ravens giving him insights as to what happened. Making Swain a highly effective politician and commander with his ravens as his eyes and ears. (Swain also beat a whole ass demon btw and forced it to become his new arm)

Darius is the Noxian Commander in this cinematic btw, he's fighting a duel to claim territory for Noxus. He's the future leader of the Trifarian Legion, the most elite Noxian Legion. This cinematic depicts him in his late 20s to early 30s but in his mid 40s he becomes one of the 3 leaders of Noxus taking the title of Grand General and representing Might out of the 3 principles, Vision, Might and Guile. Each principle being represented by a Noxian Leader. It's a trio to keep each other in check so that no singular power can take hold of Noxus. Katarina is the Assasin in this cinematic fighting Elise, a noblewoman that had a blessing from an Immortal Spider God called Vilemaw. Katarina is more than likely trying to assasinate a member of the Black Rose under the command of Swain, who is the represenation of Vision. He stepped down as Emperor willingly and with next to no pressure aside from his own principles looking out for the interests of his nation. Edit: Swain was one of the collaborators to overthrow Borram Darkwill who was Emperor at the time. He took his place but stepped down willingly to create a solid foundation for Noxian governance. Swain and Darius are true patriots to Noxus while Leblanc is the lady at the end who convinced the original Noxian tribes thousands of years ago to unite against A tyrant named the Iron Revenant, AKA, Mordekaiser who was too angry to die he created a realm of Death where he built a kingdom with the souls of his victims acting as either soldiers and monstrous ghosts or literal ethereal bricks he used to build his realm of death. (Mordekaiser is currently Imprisoned under the Immortal Bastion, the center most building of the Noxian Capital.) (All characters mentioned are playable characters in the game except Vilemaw)

Don't know If you really would like a character rundown but here it goes anyway - Vladimir funnily enough, not a Vampire(Tehnically). He's a Blood Mage, the most powerful one in the verse. Can reform his body with blood magic so he's tehnically immortal and can keep himself forever young ( I promise he's not a Vampire lmao) -LeBlanc, the girl with Vladimir at the end is the shadowy lady, the leader of the Black Rose in season 2 of Arcane. Huge character, insanely impactful in the story. One of the most powerful mages in the verse. - Darius, The Noxian solider fighting the Ice troll. Absolute Badass. Probably the best soldiers Noxus has ever seen. One of the leaders of Noxus. Also him picking his Axe back up after its been frozen like that is Insanely impressive beyoned belief (Lore stuff). No relation to Jayce lmao, probably just the style of animation from the studio Fortiche (from Arcane). - Trundle, the Ice Troll Darius fights. Big Boi. Tough. Can regenerate. Is an "Iceborn" (Lore stuff but basically extremely resistant to cold and can wield "True Ice" his club is made from it, true ice kills anyone who touches it except Iceborn). King of the Ice Trolls. - Katarina, Red Hair chick. Assassin. Blade specialist. Romeo and Juliet story with another character in the Lore (the only thing everyone associates her with lol). Oh and lots of drawings on the internet... Way to many.... - Elise, Spider chick fighting Katarina. Black Rose member. Can turn into a spider. Possessed (Tehnically) by a Spider demon. Very cool character. - Mel. Is Mel. You know her. You love her. She is now also a character you can play as in the game. -Don't play the game lmao. But mostly when people say this they mean the game itself. If you want to dive into the lore of the universe you don't have to play the game the lore is separate. The lore just gives the characters in the game more meaning. You can check out any character you want on the League of Legends page with a DEEP Lore, if you wish to do so. (There are channels on YT with milions of subscribers and views that purely just do League Lore) I'd recommend "Necrit" if you're interested, he's basically the loremaster of League. And since Arcane is officially canon in the League universe he also does videos on it. This is a Trailer for the new League of Legends season in the game. With a teaser in end there for the upcoming show but primary for the game. (We'll probably see some of these characters in the trailer in the show so the teaser is what they might look like at least lol) The Lore community is almost separate from the player community although they intertwine. Mostly the toxic people are high rank players so you don't have to worry about them when dealing with the league lore stuff. (Usually lmao). Hope any of this helps!

LoL have many cinematics like this and the are pretty good as well. Therefore I can also recommend watching cinematics like "Awaken", "Warriors" 2020, "The Call", "Still Here" or "Gods". 3:42 Darius for example can also be seen in a similar style to this in the Legends of Runterra Noxus cinematic, which is one of quite a few. He also appears in LoL's "A new Dawn" and one of the "Ruination" cinematics. 6:03, 6:33 (in the distance): That is Noxus' capital city called "The Immortal Bastion" btw. Necrit makes great LoL lore videos that I can recommend checking out.

So this is I'd say 80% a trailer for the new season of league of legends the game and 20% a tease of what the Noxus show will look like. None of what you saw will be in the show other than the characters. And because it was Fortiche who animated it, that means this is what they'll actually look like. Lore cinematics like this which kick off a new season are now canon, just like Arcane, as of last year. So there's one other cinematic, Still Here, which shows moments in the League of Legends world that have actually happened(well the story in that cinematic shows the past, present, and a "possible "future. So it's mostly canon). There are plenty of other cinematics, they're all incredible. If you do watch them, think of those as more loosely based on true events.

Elise (spiderwoman) shes part of the black rose Katarina (fighting spiderwoman) is an assassin Darius (fighting blue dude) warrior of the noxians Trundle (blue dude) Leblanc (lady at the end) leader of the black rose. You saw her black shadow character talking to Mel and killing Ambessa in season 2. Vladimir (also part of the black rose) pretty much you can expect all of them in the new show (most likely). they're all in noxus region. there is much lore to each character, but im to lazy to type it out. you can learn via the show prolly

A little bit about the characters by order of appearance: - Mel: You know and love her 💛 - Red haired assassin girl: Katarina Du Couteau. She’s one of Noxus’s best assassins, currently working for one of its 3 rulers (Swain). Since this seems to be a prequel to them ruling though, we’re not really sure if she’s working for him yet this point, but it seems she’s been sent to assassinate a black rose member. - Jayce looking armor guy: Darius. Another of the 3 rulers of Noxus. He’s one of Noxus’s best soldier and commanders. This is a younger version of him, where is just a commander invading a region known as the Freljord for the old ruler of Noxus. - Ice Troll: Trundle. He’s a leader of the Freljordian ice trolls. He has a magic ice club made of a material known as “true ice,” it doesn’t melt and if a person who isn’t a special being known as “ice-born” touches it they just die from the pain. The fact that Darius was able to touch his true ice infected axe without passing out or dying shows how badass he is, and the level of insanity needed to be at the top in Noxus. - Spider girl: Elise. A magician who (long-story short) becomes part spider monster. She works for the black rose, and in this cinematic is guarding that black rose guy from Katarina. - Ending credits sorcerer woman: Leblanc. The leader of the black rose who you’ve technically already seen in arcane s2. You can tell because here she has her fingers in shadow, whereas in s2 there was a shadowy sorcerer whose fingers are the only part not in shadow… Her backstory is a mystery but she is incredibly powerful, and a bad woman doing bad things to stop an even worse ghost man (long story). - Vampire dude: Vladimir. The other leader of the black rose. He’s technically not from Noxus, but long story short he tricks some godly beings to teach him blood magic and now he’s an immortal vampire-like being.

To clear some confusion only Mel is a recurring character in the trailer. I do want to clear something about League as a game though. The game is not as toxic as people make it out to be, people mostly just meme about it and blow it out of proportion. And if you want you can disable chat (it might even be disabled by default, not sure) and not worry about it.

Vi and jinx’s stories are done, atleast for now. If the next show is indeed the Noxus one, you might get Mel mixed into it bc of her ties to Noxus and since she is chasing down the black rose. Just put it this way, in the game there is like 160+ total champions, and in the world of Runeterra there is like 4 big main nations(Noxus, Freljord, Ionia, Demacia) and quite a few smaller places like (piltover, zaun, blidgewater,etc) and that’s not even including the Gods, voids, shadow realms, etc. so a lot of different interesting and cool champions,nations,stories and lore they can choose from to bring to life.

Them only giving Mel a "setting up" story in arcane, as well as the very abstract involvement of the black rose, all serve the purpose of setting up the potential next show; So it does make sense that she will be the connecting tissue, apart from that fans of the arcane characters might get some very loose, very rare mentions or call backs to the arcane characters or events, and MAYBE an even more rare cameo in the very distant future in another of the spin off shows, but that's it... The story of the main characters of arcane is mostly over, specially since those characters are lore-wise VERY TIED to their specific locations... Characters like VI or Cat have very little flexibility in terms of how far you can take those characters in the wider LOL universe; Mel for example has more mileage simply by the very basis of the character: She is a Noxian character that can/will get a story about coming back to Noxus, but even in the future she could get a story about going to other regions given that conquering and "going" into other places is very much a noxian theme. She has a lot of possibility of movement. But the reality is that all of the arcane characters (perhaps including Mel as well), but specially the main ones are pretty small potatoes in the larger world of Runeterra; in terms of the importance of the characters, the events and specially in terms of influence and power levels... Most of the characters in the show rank at the bottom in terms of powers, abilities and overall impact, which means that while they can 100% take part into amazing storytelling and arcs (they have proven that for sure), as the world expands they become less relevant... Like, at the end Viktor could be the only character or being that would actually be ranked higher on the list of LOL characters or champions in terms of powers or his impact, but even that situation in the finale, that war, could've been handled fairly easily by even some characters that rank in the middle of the list of most powerful characters in the LOL lore; even the weakest "Aspect" or "Ascended" could've made quick work of 99% of the shit happening in the show 😂... The follow-up shows would increasingly show the real big players in the world. Like you said, as someone who doesn't know much about the world, you and others walked out of Arcane thinking that Mel and her family were the top dogs in Noxus, and that's not even close to the reality; Mel's mother was a respected commander, but not even close to being the most badass or powerful or relevant, in fact, the guy shown in the cinematic IS ACTUALLY a big deal in Noxus and the whole of Runeterra... The most powerful characters involved in the story of arcane were the ones moving pieces behind the scenes, the black rose's leaders; those 2 characters that appear at the end of the cinematic: LeBlanc and Vladimir, are some of the most powerful "mortals" in the whole world ("mortal" in a very technical and loose sense, since both of them are actually ancient, but mortal in the sense that they are not celestial beings or gods or other races)

I think the Black Rose in Arcane serves as 1. giving Ambessa a background which makes her not purely evil; 2. a vehicle that killed Ambessa who is not Caitlyn, Mel or another Zaunite/Piltovian; 3. giving a glimpse to a much greater world with yet to discover mysteries; 4. an opportunity to develop Mel further and to span an arch to next shows

Darius is still young in this cinematic Katarina and Elise have new skins and Mel in her visions fought with reanimated soldiers like Sion #Grey Legion Katarina has her new daggers from the Katarina comic where she had love at first sight with Garen which is a prequel to the Mageseeker RPG and a continuation of the Lux comic. Mel was in the same place where a pregnant young Ambessa fought in the Blood sweat and tears cinematic. Leblack and Vladimir are apparently talking about darkin who will survive Twilight of the Gods like Aatrox,... apparently Valeeva sister of Varus could be the New 5th darkin champion for League of Legends??

Mel is most likely going back to Noxus to find the Black Rose who are the group of mages that supposedly killed her brother and attacked her in Arcane. The two at the are the founders, Leblanc and Valdimir. Both are thousands of years old in the current lore, but that might get changed for the series. I heard they stream lined the process of animating a bit since Arcane, so hopefully not 3 years for the next one lol.

That said in an interview it was confirmed they are working on spin-offs for Noxus, Ionia and Demacia ie other regions in the same world as Arcane As for the Cinematic. Mell arrives at Noxus, poetically teh she is standing at the same place where her mother cinematic ended she then approaches a large monument This is called a Noxtura, its functions as a waymarker and a triumphal arch combined - Noxus builds them on controlled territory to mark ways that lead to the Capital City called Noxus. The Noxtura is also covered in carvings depicting the history of the Empire As such it is a twist on the saying "All roads lead to Rome" and well the Roman Triumphal Arch She then experiences a vision of her basically storming a huge structure called the The Immortal Bastion a great fortress that is the Center Point of the Capital City and where the Black Rose has their Headquarters. as she draws nearer she is confronted by forces that the Black Rose has first the Grey Legion, if you look closer the soldiers have gray skin and red glowing eyes, these are revenants brought back to life using Hemomancy ie Blood Magic, then 4 Hemomancers / Blood Mages try to subdue her, as for the Rubble we dont really know what that is supposed to mean.

But Ekko Convergence is not is the some Arcane continuity if you watch on KZbin Convergence post credit scene you will know why. Ps Snow scenes of Frerjord parts from these cinematics are happening in present time as Riot Forge Song of Nunu. Riot IP team comfirned these are canon too. The music for some of their cinematics usually get copyrighted because they have a "feat" artist on it. When they produce the music in-house it's mostly never copyrighted tho. I have seen some creators having to censor the music because of copyright for this video, for example necrit.

That's not true. They have specific "creator-safe" songs they keep updated on playlists on soundcloud and spotify, but those are almost exclusively champion themes. The artists on these collaborative efforts still retain certain rights to the songs, and as such they are *usually* subject to copyright claims. It is possible this song in particular isn't, but given how many time I've seen reactors use KZbin's built in tool to remove the music to Welcome to Noxus, I'd wager that this song is getting claimed.

Axe-man is a guy named Darius, and from what we see of him here, he's actually pretty young kid, likely on his way to claiming his position as one of the three leaders of Noxus. So, sadly it's not AU jayce lol. I were a betting man, I'd wager we're probably never ever going to see alternate reality stuff again. I think that was less about setting up a multiverse, and more about giving Ekko sufficient motivation to save Jinx while also explaining how he'd get his power to rewind time.

It's highly *likely* the next League related TV Show will take place in Noxus, but the official stance from Riot themselves is that this trailer is for the game only...for now. They historically don't confirm or deny anything speculative when it comes to future content. So while I'm confident it's teasing a future season of television, I would be shocked if it drops within two or three years, let alone this year. Also, don't listen to the other comment claiming Arcane caused "financial turmoil" for the company, that's just regurgitating TV industry headlines that don't understand how Riot functions as a hybrid media company or what their actual goals are. They've gone on record that Arcane was a massive success for them in multiple ways. If you still need Arcane-adjacent content to hold you over, I think a full length react to the cinematics would be fun for you and us viewers, though you'd probably need someone to curate a list for you as there's a LOT of them and not all are the same level of quality/relevance to the lore.

It's more storydriven than this video, without the music aspect, but they are all canon/in the same univers. It also has a similar art style to Arcane although way less refined, it still looks good tho!

And here's a good way to describe Noxus, Overall, they are viewed as evil, expansionist nation that likes war. But internally, they just value strength above all else. Ironically, and not to retcon the show, they offer any many new nations they conquer a chance to join the nation of Noxus from lowest citizen to the highest official. If you can do something and you have the willpower to show your value, you will do well. Darius and his brother Draven grew up in the slums of Noxus and both worked their way up to the highest military ranks. Darius specifically worked his way up to the highest military position and he represents might. Swain represents Vision and there's guile, but we don't know who that is yet. In short, they are a meritocracy that values individuals' abilities, strengths, and talents vs. wealth, social class, or race. In short, if you are weak, you will not survive in Noxus society.
