A thunderstorm just came through on this August afternoon. This song immediately came to mind. I saw "The Fantasticks" in New York in 1979. It was magical. No wonder it's the longest running stage musical in the world--42 years. Hear how the wind begins to whisper See how the leaves go streaming by Smell how the velvet rain is falling Out where the fields are warm and dry... So funny to read the comments. maybe some bruised egos failed the audition:) Went to B park mid winter just to see where it was staged. Looked like rain, but not just then. But hey! what do i know. musicals are the province of big apple eaters. i defer.
