This sounds so old-timey and beautiful. What a gorgeously melancholic sound this song has.

I got this album for Christmas as a teenager. I associate this song with reading The Two Towers while it was snowing. I could see a blue light inside a church across the street through the frosty window.

I too listened to pumpkins like there was no tomorrow throughout my teenage years. Their sound still conjures a sacrosanct saudade and immaculately nostalgic catharsis. Swallows me whole like a wall cloud closing in - every time. Your description of the blue wintery church glow is one I have as well - beyond the depths. 👁👅👁 :: Sry I was extremely baked 😂 but I still stand by my words 🎉

Found this sound christmas morning circa 2001. I woke up early, not excited about presents but afraid another year had passed and I still didn't know what I wanted to do with my life. High school was half over and I was barreling towards adulthood. This song perfectly captured that teenage feeling of being lost in the deep of your mind, drowning inches from the surface. Somehow though, this song made me always feel ok with it. Which is when I found out I suffered from the call of the void.

Could I immerse myself in the scenery of this song. It speaks about my soul and the love that sunk and embedded itself inside the roots of my identity. Where I have become trapped and unknowing of my surroundings, and where I have "dreams of getting well." With all these... "soot and stars", I have come to reluctantly accept the faint touches of my child.

So annoying this isn't on streaming services as it's my favourite SP song, but it used to be on them I'm 98% certain? Thank you this video so I can get my monthly fix. I used to own it physically too but after a few house moves in short succession my CD collection was trashed, lost, abandoned for streaming, and the B-sides disc from the greatest hits was lost as well. What a song!
