I'm 5'8" and 160 lbs. As a smaller framed shooter with smaller hands the G48 is a home run for me. It's relatively thin and lightweight, easy to carry, and it fits my hands perfectly. Nothing against double stack 9's like my Walther PPQ M1 which is an outstanding handgun, but there absolutely is a role that this gun fits into that others don't. Thank you Glock for making a concealable yet highly shootable 9mm!

Picked up a G48 this weekend. Man am I glad I did. I NEVER do comments or reviews. But after putting this thing in my hand, it is exactly what I have been waiting for. The G19 always felt like a brick in my hand, my original G43 felt good but a little too slim. This fits the bill perfectly plus the 10 round capacity plus it carries just as easy as my old G43. To those thinking about a G48, try it for sure!!

FINALLY! Glock has come out with something that may seriously tempt me. Like many, I waited and waited for years for a slim Glock -- and bought (still have) a few Kahrs and a gen 1 Walther PPS. The Glock 42 was too little, too late and the 43, though at least a 9mm was also TLTL. Combining a 10 round capacity with a Kahr-like thickness is doing something!

I agree, even feels and looks like the Kahr. I prefer the Glock trigger. But I prefer the Kahr 380 with straight back strap over the Glock 380 back strap bump. The Glock rear grip bump on the short 42 and 43 grips point/shoot high for me.

Great review as always. I got a 48 this week and had it fit with ameriglo pro i-dot before it left the store. Thank you John at Hilltop for that. I live in a high capacity friendly state and have carried a G19 appendix for a few years now. Today I put around 200 rounds through it and 20 rounds of defensive loads. I have medium sized hands and this pointed naturally for me and I was fast and accurate! This was going to be my summer carry gun. I like it so much however, after 500 rounds it may be my new EDC !

John D The Raven Vanguard 2 in a 4 o clock is great with the G19. Very comfortable. I don't suggest the advanced kit though. Don't try to appendix carry it. And I promise I'm a conceal Carry wimp.

I believe that the shield mags S15, they fit the G48 & G43X which gives you a 15 round mag for the 43x and 48. Maybe you could investigate that.

I've been mulling over what a 19 single stack would be like and this fits the bill. I like the new option. I carried a 1911 a little this summer and found it easier than the 19 due to the slimness. Oh and I also like the finish, I prefer to clean a gun that isn't black.

This is a gun tailor made for the comment section in any glock video. I’d bet anything that there will be a glock 26L in the near future too. It’s cool to see glock listening to the customers! Additionally, and i admit this could be a stretch, I wonder if this would be a viable option for female or small statured LEOs who just struggle with double stack glocks. With a plus two floorplate, that would be a 12+1 single stack with glock reliability.

THey NEED to make a Gen5 Model 40 MOS X or a slimmer version, I am left eye dominate so an ambi version of the model 40 in a slimmer package 10+1 Glock would be sweet. Sure you can find a 1911 10 Hunter, but those guns are heavy, but not as heavy obviously as a double action revolver in 10mm, 357, 44 mag for hunting.

Could also be for the Canadian market. We can only have 10 round mags for handguns, and it meet's the exact barrel length requirements we have for handguns. Guns that have shorter barrels need to be extended to about 4.25 inches. So you may be able to get it slightly cheaper since it wouldn't need to get a new barrel. Though PPCs that take double stack glock mags are pretty popular now, so I can't see anyone who already has a double stack glock buying one. I kind of like it, but I don't know if I need one.

Another great video, Sootch! This is the Glock that might bring me back into the fold. Discreet carry with a full length barrel is a big plus in my book. The other major advantage to this pistol is that the pool of available Defensive ammunition choices has gone up quite a bit. I have carried a PC Shield for a few years now and found that finding reliably expanding defensive JHP's was tougher than I had thought. Loads like the 150Grain HST worked great in bare gel, but not through heavy clothing. Adding that extra inch of barrel length opens up a world of possibilities for Defensive JHP's that will reliably work.

I have had many Glocks over the last twenty some years. I used G23/19 in IDPA. My hand size falls between medium and large. The standard Glock double stack grips are just a bit too bulky for my hand and for IWB. So the 48/43x is the answer I've been waiting for. Especially with the S15 magazines. Finally, a Glock that fits my hands!

Don I’ve been carrying this pistol for six month now with Shield Arms mags . I’m not turning my back on my g19 it’s going into home defense roll . G48 fits my hand better and carries so much better on my slim frame body in or outside waistband . And for sure I’ve updated sights and put a flat face trigger and 3.5 connector in . Shot both pistols to determine what I would buy. The groups I shot at 5,7,10,15 yards showed minimal difference (maybe a 16th of an inch. I was impressed how easy it was to control. For me, The g43x shot better than the Sig p365 (less snappy) I have a G19 for full size carry so based on those points I went with the 43x. It also makes a difference with holsters I currently own (fits g43 holsters). I also prefer to get a full size grip for smooth reloads and control. (G43 magazines snagged in my palm.) To each their own but you can’t go wrong with the 43x or 48. @Sootch00 I love your reviews. The rapid fire iterations show how well you can run the gun.

Been a CCW permit holder going on 10 years now. I have always carried appendix started with the glock 26, eventually realized full size grip with a quality holster like the RCS Eidelon and belt I was able to carry a glock 19 with no printing under a normal fitting t shirt for a 185 lb guy. I soon also realized i was faster on the draw and more accurate and faster follow ups with a glock 19 so I sold the glock 26. If the 48 is slimmer and lighter than the G19 this could be my new carry gun. It is winter so extra cover garments means there is no rush for me to get one before summer. I want to see lots of comparisons to the G19 and hopefully rent one and put it through its paces, no rush.

Good video. I really enjoyed it. I just bought a new G48 and haven't even shot it. I had a 43x and had a terrible problem of shooting left with it. I hope this longer sight radius will help. I'm 74 yrs old and have shot guns all my life since dad gave me my 1st b.b. gun at age 5 and never had a problem shooting left like I did with the 43x. I even moved the rear sight a good ways to the right, but never could get the shooting left corrected. Again, I really did enjoy your video. Keep up the good work, my friend.

@Douglas Phillips Thanks ! I've shot the G48 about 200 times now and it shoots dead on ! No shooting left like I did with the 43X. I know what you're saying about trigger pull causing the low / left shots, but no problem with the G48.....and the trigger pull is a little heavier than most Glocks that I've owned. By my scale about 6 1/2 lbs. Most other Glocks I've owned were about 5 to 5 1/2 lbs. Again, thanks for responding and your help. Have a good / safe day and coming week.

Just got a G48. Essentially a SLIM G19. Fits my hand well, more concealable. Very comfortable to shoot and does have a good balance. So much lighter than my 9mm 1911 commander. Need to shoot it a bit more, looking forward to doing very well with it over time. Using a G43 holster for now, looking forward to G48 holster...DeSantis, Galco????

After shooting one of these with a double stack Shield mag (15 round capacity), I think the G19 is nearly obsolete. Even the 10 round factory mags are more than enough capacity for almost any need for a CCW pistol.

I don't need more than 10 round capacity so to save some weight is good. Sure, the only advantage the G48 has is that it's slimmer than the G19 but the only advantage to the G43 is that it's slimmer than the G26 yet look how popular it is. I think the G48 will catch on after a while. Most people want lighter guns.

I’m glad glock is finally starting to do different things. They were really getting stale here lately. Not sure how I missed this and the 43x. I think this is a good idea. I carried my g19 for 2 years and the main reason I switched to the m@p 2.0 (not much better) and xdm was because of the thickness of the glock it could be uncomfortable at times. I like this over the 43 as you should be able to control it better and have a longer sight radius.

I commented on another channel about possibly buying a Glock 19 or 19X but I love my 48. I had my slide milled for and optic and for me this is the THE gun. I am going to be buying another Glock 48 and have the slide milled and set it up exactly like my current set up. Once I find something that works for me I stop searching and stick with it and with the G48 it just works and that’s what I need, for it to work!!!!! Simple is sometimes good and less it sometimes more. I am not a big person and I wear dress clothes to work and I can conceal this like nobody’s business. Great video.

Why! 😄Apart from that the glock 43x has the same problem most conceal hand guns do, a long grip which is not OK for me in terms of conceal-ability, which is not an upgrade for me in terms of my glock 43. I'm watching this a year and a half after this video was uploaded, sorry for being late to the party. I purchased a 48 about 6 months ago. I swapped out the factory mags for Shield Arms S15 mags and I haven't touched my G19 since.

I’ve got a 43 and 29. Not sure a 10mm would be good in this small a frame, but I am surprised Glock has developed a .40 in similar size with the 43.

I wanted a xds 4.0, but never ran across one in the wild. I was intrigued by the 365, but it is too small for me. Depending on how Smith and Wesson responds will help me make my next ccw decision. Same size shield with 10+ rounds and I am in otherwise Im getting a 48. Smith has had a half stack mag for the longest. It should be an easy fix for them to add 2 - 4rds to it. Last I shot a 43 it was too small for me, so I am out on the 43x.

I have a Glock 19 but am going to be picking up a slightly used one 48 from my local gunshop. I also love that Shield Arms has made a flush fit mag that holds 15 rounds, that's a 15+1 capacity on the Glock 48 with a flush mount magazine!!

Shield arms S15 15 round mags also their plus 5 to carry up to 20 rounds, I loved the slim profile so immediately purchased the 43x, 48 oh and the 43, 43x for EDC 48 for Range day & the G43 for the wife = happy house !

Like he said, similar Dimensions to a 1911 especially a commander. Something no one has talked about these guns would be awesome for female law enforcement officers with smaller hands. The difference in Dimensions between a Glock 19 and a Glock 48 doesn't look like much on paper but when you put your hands on each of them it's a big difference in your hand.

Make them lighter and with a shorter stock/mag (maybe a rail) ... I like the g19 sized/g26 mag configuration only if they'd slim it down some possibly lighter as well.. Was leaning towards springfields 4.0 but the sucker is a lil too heavy loaded imo

They beveled the polymer, not the metal frame extension? 😂 Oh Glock... No rail, garbage sights, & two tone. I WAS excited for the 43x & 48. Not so much anymore! If I lived in a Commie state that was limited to 10rds I’d still rather have the 19, if shtf high capacity mags would still be an option. Thanks Sootch for another great review!

@SpaceCowboy88 Try night shooting, Reloading in the dark with a flashlight in one hand and having your empty gun in the other hand and fumbling trying to get a fresh mag without taking the light off the target is a pain. Me personally Ill always carry with a weapon mounted light.

Of course. Might as well get some of the market share, but the only parallel I see with this particular model (G48) is the single stack and the 4" barrel. ..But like you stated, the 4.0 xds is discontinued...Why, I don't know, because the 4.0 was the only xds I wanted.

Live in a 10 rd state? Carry a glock 19, pack a couple 15/33 rd mags under bed for emergencies,... carry 10 rd mags under peace conditions.......

Why would people waist money on this when they can slap a 10rnd mag in the 19 or 23 and be good to go even in commie states , Glock it's just stupid 🤔 . I even have a 10rnd mag for my RTF 22 for hunting . This makes no sense .

The only thing ever keeping me from glock was the grip width. I have small hands and kind of remember saying to myself that when they come out with a single stack I'd check it out. I gave the 43 a go but I'm not really a subcompact guy. This thing has the right length, height, and grip with for me. I dress way down so the weight and profile is real important for me. They call it a restricted state 19 but I call it a tropical weather 19. With the 15 round mag for I'm sold.

Im looking forward to trying the G48. I have wide hands but relatively short fingers. I have a hard time with any gun getting my grip right and being able to access the magazine release without adjusting my hand. Also being 10 rounds i think makes it perfect for IDPA. I may just have to order one to find out.

@@mattolfson9230 also for small people, my girl friend is only 5 feet tall, so this is a much more shootable glock 19 for her. The 19 width is alot for small hands. Different size guns for different size people.

A nice option for us Canadians where we have magazine capacity restricted to 10 and can have a barrel length restriction of 4.25" (know we would still need the longer barrel)
