The thing about BCM is, you never have to work about something important not being done. If it should be chrome lined, it is. If it should be tested, it is. If it should be properly staked, it is. Just an outstanding company to purchase from.

I comment 1:23 into the video. I recently built a 10.5 300blk pistol. Used a bcm trigger, it’s a budget / quality where it counts build. 🤷🏼‍♂️. This build takes me to memory back in high school, well not high school. I was in Gladiator school. I had a teacher, he was a Vietnam vet, dorky looking guy hippyish, ponytail. Slouched bad, even standing. Then one day he talks war, and how he got lit up by an AK, almost cut him in half 3 shots. Lifted his shirt 3 big dents with a line connecting going at an angle. Scar looked as if he was cut in half. I never looked at him as a dork with a slouch again. Been a fan of 30cal since. Idk how he survived.

When I bought my first AR I went in with a $600-900 budget looking for a Colt or something similar. I didn't know much but when I went to the shop and started talking with the sales rep, he told me to checkout BCM. I had never heard of them (this was a while back now) so I went home and did my research. Everything I could find was A+ and everyone seemed to love them. Long story short my ~700 budget went out the window, I went in the next day and bought a BCM Recce 14 for $1500. Best $1500 I ever spent and is by far the nicest rifle I own. Keep up the great work Sootch!

Larry Riffett You can go directly to BCM’s website. There, you can order a production firearm. Made in small batches, one life at a time. Or, you can order up a custom tailored firearm, built to your exact specifications. Their cost is not as much as you may expect.Not for the type of lifesaving equipment this is, handmade by BCM (Bravo Company Manufacturing), each firearm, to exacting standards that exceed MIL-SPEC. They are tested along the way during their painstakingly detailed creation process. Their motto goes something like, “We don’t mass produce firearms for the civilian market. We make our firearms by hand, one at a time. Using Extreme care and detail, to highest standards because BCM makes its firearms for professionals. In combat, and on the streets for law enforcement. We make them to save one life at a time.”

I just got a 8" 300 blackout upper to replace my 8" 5.56 upper. From what I understand, the 300 black out fully burns up its gun powder in an 8" barrel unlike the short barrel 5.56 which wastes it powder charge as a large fireball. That along with the larger mass of the 300 BLK results in much greater muzzle energy for a sub 8" barrel.

I've got a 8.5" Blackout, 7.5" 556 upper, and a 22lr conversion kit. So just switching upper and bolt I can shoot 4 different ammo with same the lower. Also everything fits in my tactical bookbag. Run out of 300 ammo, switch upper. Run out of 556 and then 223, switch out bolt and magazine. Run all my 22lr.

Great review as always. Would this build fit in something like the 5.11 Rush 24 bag you just reviewed? Sadly, I still cannot convince myself to add another caliber - especially 300 Blackout. Cost per round being the major factor. Plus I still don't see a logical benefit to 300 Blackout if you aren't suppressing. I guess that's the blessing/curse of a pragmatic mind. Keep up the good work my friend.

ArkhamEFX you're saying the entire build came out to be 700?
@TheJedi270
@TheJedi270 6 жыл бұрын
Rob Sullivan yeah, I focused on weight and the Bolt,barrel, and comp. The trigger isn't high speed and low drag but is actually very nice. I found out years ago there are many makers of furniture that turn out a great product for less. The spikes lower was $94 which is a great quality lower for that price. The upper where they claim it is stag it isn't stag marked. There in fact four or so forgers that supply firearms manufacturers. LWRC, Daniel Defense, spikes are just a very few that do them all in house. Now, one thing with some research I learned was that Milspec offered to civilians is not true milspec. Only the Military has those true numbers. They are very close though. Allot of shooters knock UTG. But UTG uses the exact same materials the bigger guys do and they are very high quality. What's that saying? A 2x4 is a 2x4? It comes down to the "name" on the box. I used a midpoint charging handle the whole $80 handle is such a wallet killer and to be honest I have yet to break one in my life. I just feel there's a lot of companies preying on guys wanting names. This build is a combat weapon plain and simple. Everything that matters is in my opinion very high quality. The Barrel and bolt being Ballistic Advantage is a kicker. It is one of the best if not the best setup available. MPI HPI. Cold hammer forgedr which is the best way period.
@TheJedi270
@TheJedi270 6 жыл бұрын
Rob Sullivan LOL here's the short answer, anything that matters is where I spent the money. There's no tacticool to it. It's one of those rifles that when ya go to the range and everybody's gun has 30 pounds of pricey crap on it. It comes out the bag light fast and accurate and a tank.

Just a small point. Fluting alone doesn’t increase the rigidity of the barrel. It actually decreases the rigidly of the barrel for the same diameter. You can say that a fluted barrel is more rigid than a non fluted barrel of the same weight. Nice gun.

My ar15 in 762x39 from PSA has had ZERO malfunctions. I've had it for almost 2 years and it only gets steel garbage ammo. I'm sitting at close to 3,000 rounds now. That's more than I've put through my AK'S. So don't say that 762x39 won't function in an ar15. With good magazines it isn't an issue.

It’s always hard to justify the extra money spent over something like a psa equivalent firearm, but there are certainly some extras on the Springfield that you’d have to pay extra for if you went the psa route.

Hello. Could you please help me to understand what is the bad press I’ve been hearing bout BCM’s barrels?? I understand that they do not have the cold hammer steel as DD does and so BCM barrels have been only able to have 1000-1200 rounds before having to let the barrel cool down before running again, is this true?? I am really interested and wanting to get the 12.5 300 blackout for a HD/CQC/CQB but again have heard that the barrel has cause baffle strikes and when, the shooter turns in the barrel supposedly, BCM has blamed the shooter instead. Now I also heard that you can elect to get the upgrade of BCM’s “hammer cold steel” referred as to something else but I can not recall. Could you please give me the REAL facts about BCM and put my mind to rest please and thank you?? Thank you and thank you for your timely timely response

I am guessing you are shooting supersonic rounds, my .300 blackout pistol is a PSA build, similar to yours, except unfluted stainless barrel, and no blade on the back of the buffer tube. NiB bolt carrier for the additional reliability. I still haven't gotten mine to the range, but intend to get it there. My optic is laser, red dot combo. It breaks down into a back sling pack, so it could be concealed carried in a high threat scenario. How well does your pistol do with subsonic ammo?

Realizing I am a little late to this blackout game....from the all knowing internet (lol) it seems this cartridge can reach maximum velocity from a ten inch barrel. Can you help me understand why BCM may have chosen a 9” barrel? I am in the market for a blackout upper and your insight is pretty valuable.

Hey sootch, I am building my first AR ever. It will be a AR pistol and I was wanting to know what would you think would be a good round to have? I am not a regular shooter so it is rare if I go to the range. I am thinking about 300blackout or 556 and what barrel length??? Please get back to me when you can. Thanks

Nice rifle, love BCM. FYI knockdown power is a myth though. look on youtube, a guy takes a .308 to the chest wearing a plate (standing on one foot) and he doesnt even lose balance whatsoever....
