For the handloader/reloader, the .300 can use the same smokeless powder as the .44 and .357 magnums. (Hodgon H110). Plus .308 bullets are very commonly available.

More companies are making bullets made for .300 blackout. So you can get expanding projectiles that work at .300 blackout speeds. There are lots of powders that work with the .300 blackout.

Powders are sometimes hard to get so ya a 300 especially sub can use pistol powders it especially likes slower magnum pistol powders ball powders that are more available and cheaper so that’s good a 220 grain sub rd only uses 9-10 grains that’s a lot of rounds out of a jug at 7000 grains a jug!

I was deployed with a unit that required a few MP5SDs for disposing of "position exposing" dogs (guard or stray) and other annoying creatures while on INFIL and EXFIL. The users had to carry that AND their Mk18s, an unnecessary burden. 300 blackout subs and supers are tailor made for quiet and close CQ type work, especially at night or "low vis" situations. 300B was definitely what we needed in the early GWAT. As a reloader, I discovered the caliber around 2016. It's a pleasure to make and shoot. The cost is low enough that I can shoot supers in 3 Gun. Since I'm usually the only one that shoots it in competitions, I help clean up each stage by picking up my own brass, which is easy to ID on the ground.

Even supers are suppressed well. Yes you cannot leave your ear pro at home and dump a mag without it messing with your ears, but in a home defense situation, you won’t notice the difference between supers and subs if the firearm is suppressed. Your nervous system will be more concerned with any threat to your life.

My take is that the terminal ballistics of subsonic 300 Blackout are underwhelming. Supersonic 110-125 grain, however, has damn good terminal ballistics 150 yards and in.

I have incorporated 300 Blk into my weapons systems. I have the 9mm sub guns for backpack gun close in. The truck gun and CQB is handled by my my 8" barrel 300 Blk which I figure is perfectly capable in my hands to 200 yards. I have my 5.56 AR's and the AR-10 for its role as well. I like them each for what they do and their designated purpose in my system.

@@j.r.d7230.300 blackout’s biggest advantage is the flexibility. Able to go from 85 grain up to 265 grain bullets without having to change anything on the gun. So the .45 is going to have less energy than a .300 blackout with the right loads.

Great caliber if you want a weapon similar to AK47, that has 300 Blk Out distinct advantages. A 308 diameter bullet typical from 110 to 168 general use with great penetration, and over 230 grain for sub sonic near quiet low noise suppressor application with low to no life saving flash mitigation depending on suppressor. The sound differences are the most noticeable when you pay attention to how the sound bounces around your terrain. 220gr 950fps (1.5 mile altitude) sound like a thud against the dirt, and the supers sound like there’s some sound activity bouncing around. This is supressed with a silencerco omega36m It really shines when you have a buddy shoot a large burm your sitting behind. Precaution and safety is possible with communication. Have them hit the burm and go over with each ammo. That’s where this SHINES The 300 blackout subsonic is like spooky. You hear a dirt impact and barley a sound of the shot. Where that sound comes from blows away in the wind…

It's not that they "tweaked" the cartridge all that much, but they were smart enough to take what was essentially a wildcat in the 300 Wisper, the AAC advanced the concept of the .300 AAC Blackout, which is a SAAMI-standardized .300-221. The reloading dies for the .300 Whisper and the .300 AAC Blackout are often the same. Hornady states that any rifle chambered for the .300 AAC Blackout can shoot .300 Whisper ammunition.

In certain cases the brace may be more comfortable than a stock. Definitely not here, but in the case of the maxim defense stocks/braces, the brace is wider and is make of a rubber material. (They also make plugs to fill the hole, but makes it an sbr, so only do that if you have a stamp) vs their stock which is metal and slimmer.

Asa reloader 300bo is only good for me as a 7” sub sonic 220 hand cast rd otherwise a ak is better or a ar 15 is way cheaper and easier. I have a 16” 300 Bo that is useless and heavy and big . 300 BLK will never be "essential" for tour arsenal especially as we head into uncertain times. Right now 300 BLK is about $0.72/round whereas 5.56 is about $0.48/round. If you're going to spend more on ammo, it might as well be 77 grain 5.56/ If you have the urge to buy another caliber to have on the side, probably better off with 7.62x39.

You can pretty easily find 300 BLK for around .45-.50 cents/rd for supers and .60+ cents/rd for subs if you dont care about luxury quality, which is almost never a necessity. If you buy small quantities, it'll always be more expensive than bulk price (500+ rds at a time).

You could in the 80gr range with the maker solid copper. But no, even hand loading a 100gr projectile (which I've never come across personally) to the point of 2500+ fps from a 16" barrel would be getting pretty close to dangerous pressures. I wouldn't recommend it for sure. About 2400 fps is a safe range for 110gr projectiles from a 16" barrel. Even pushing that to 2450 would most likely start showing over pressure signs. 2400fps from a 16" should be around 2200fps from an 8" barrel

The platform was designed to be suppressed with subsonic and still defeat level IIIA body armor with 220gn FMJ. It's a specialty tool. The problem exists when people try to turn it into something other than what it was designed for and then complain when they realize there are other platforms available to meet your needs. The 300blk is a quiet professionals compact PDW designed for hostage rescue teams. Trying to change the role it serves will only leave you disappointed.

Knock down power is very close to 45acp but ballistically not even close. A 300 blk can actually punch through soft armor due to its long slender bullets compared to 45 shooting subsonic loads. Longer more bc bullets guarantee better accuracy and retained energy over distance over any 45 with sub loads.

I think you're missing the point of the cartridge, which maybe he didn't explain in great enough detail.... You can get much more effectiveness from short barrel platforms (5"-10.5") with a 110-120gr supers, more than any 5.56 platform with an 11" or shorter barrel, with the ability to go subsonic with the effectiveness of a 45acp but with much better range (a 220gr sub at 100yds has the same energy as a 45acp at the muzzle). And you can have either with just the change of a magazine. It's incredible really.

The biggest perk to 350 is that it loses less velocity per inch of barrel due to its larger bore diameter. You only lose like 15% velocity dropping from 20" to 10.5" of barrel. It may be more, I'm just going off of memory... but its not much at all.

@@BuckF0eJiden 300 BLK can do everything 350 Legend can do plus a whole lot more and is cheaper, easier to find, and has a lot deeper selection.This the only reason I went with blackout otherwise if 350 was cheaper I would’ve chose it for a 250yard deer slayer!💯🤣

@gullahgeechee2699 dude the fact that you not only have factory loading options for 350 that are designed to take down 150-250lb + animals, four legged or otherwise, in addition to the ability to make some very impressive hand loads by using 9mm projectiles means you can do some really nasty things with different loadings. 115 grain FMJs will actually fragment at 2700+ fps, which is VERY doable with 350 legend in a longer barrel. Those are borderline 308 numbers at relatively close ranges. You can also go with some very solid cast bullet options by blending tungsten powder with soft lead in 160 grain molds to get bullet weights around 220 grains for subsonic suppressed use. 1050 fps @ 220.grains is around 570 ft lbs of energy, and soft lead still expands very well, even with tungsten powder blended in. The only thing 300 does better is 300+ yds, and to be fair, both rounds perform pretty abysmally in that regard. I'd rather step up to 6.5 Grendel or 6mm ARC (depending on your budget) if you just absolutely don't want a 5.56 as a general purpose rifle. Anything that's not ubiquitous, like 5.56, .308 or 7.62x39 (more so in the past, but it's making a comeback with domestic production now) is honestly a specialist round in my eyes. The biggest disadvantage to 350 is the 20 or 25 round mag capacity from the factory. You can mod pmags to run 30 rounds of 350 legend, though. That's just my thought process on the matter. There's nothing wrong with 300 blackout. It's taken off in popularity for a reason. I just think there are better options for what it's designed for. But I'm also the weirdo who invested in a 10mm CMMG to SBR. So there's that.

@@BuckF0eJiden 6.5 grendel was gonna be my next upper but my 5.56 10.5in will get the job done at 400 yrds max.300 blackout is my 200 yard gun max but 6.8 spc looks good as well for mid range gun similar ballistics to 6.5 grendel
