To be honest, I was one of the skeptics of Rare Beauty when it launched circa 2020, but they did a good job overall. The difference between a successful celebrity brand and a flop comes down to intent, I think. I'm glad that those that just want a quick buck can't seem to be able to surf off hype alone - it just shows that consumers are maturing and won't be persuaded into buying a product just for a name anymore. Thanks Soph! These videos are always helpful, because hype really is nothing more than marketing and social media illusion.

Well said. Don’t get me wrong i enjoy Ariana’s music but her line seems like a cash grab, especially based on how you worded it. People are still using rare liquid blushes from the first launch left and right. You never see someone using a REM product in their day to day routine. Ive had no interest from the start and I thought she’d put out some fun, cool stuff it’s all bland. Looks cheap. It’s very interesting to see the ‘celeb makeup brands’ craze unfold. Fenty and rare, maybe Haus Labs after listening to consumers and rebranding are the few doing it right.

I think it also helps that if you remove Selena from the brand, it stands on its own. The products don't need her face or name on them to stand out, the quality speaks for itself.

I also do the powder at the end. I find that if i use it directly after applying my foundation it doesnt settle beautifully or it immedatly creases. Espesically with moisturizing foundations.

Hi soph, I didn't have much idea when it came to makeup, then I started watching your vids, I still have your pallet from years ago and I actually think it will probably last another 5 years! 😅 maybe not recommend but I don't care! I'm trying that crease technique tomorrow! Looks amazing. :) I've been using the LH cosmetics powder puffs for years now and they're pointy too, I love that. So much easier to put powder around the eyes and nose with the pointy side.
