Honestly, my budget eating is not going well, I bought lots of cheap baked beans and they taste so vile, I threw them out. Love to you, Lawrence and the little Champ, Orin. 💖🇮🇪

Also loving this series - I would eat the chicken tikka as long as it didn't have freezer burn. Your freezer still looks so full so we could get a few more weeks out of it watching you. Your meals all looked lovely. x

I'm with you on pasta shapes tasting different. I don't like fusilli!! I've also been using up what I have in my fridge and freezer this month. It's amazing how creative you have to be when you can only use what you already have! :-)

These recipes all look delicious 😋 the lentils really do need a good wash because they can have dust and grit from the manufacturers! I always rinse things like rice and lentils! I know some people water their plants with the water from washing rice x

I love pasta shells because the sauce gets "stuck" inside like an easy wannabee ravioli. ;) But I get your point. I don't the point of bow pasta, e.g. Or the "mac and cheese" typical pasta that we see in US films. I am loving this series. :)

Oh an this reminded me watermelon season is coming. :D I love watermelon. Quite pricey here, but we rarely get bad ones.

Shell and penne for me, its a.texture thing as well as they "taste" different. They probably don't but they do!
@Saragrainger842 жыл бұрын
All pasta shapes taste the same 🤣. Love this series it’s def motivated me to start using what we have instead of hoarding lol. Orin is adorable 🥰
@lizp66592 жыл бұрын
they don't though! the shape and texture play a big part in the taste!

Make double the macaroni, half goes into tuna casserole that just needs to be put in freezer with onion, celery and Mayo overnight and the first night the first half can be with pasta sauce.

The trouble with shell is sometimes they get stuck together and don’t cook through.
@Sopherina2 жыл бұрын
Yes! They curl into each other and go hard! I’m really not a fan! Xx

I eat all the pasta except spaghetti which I think is a combo of the mess and a childhood phobia of snakes and worms. I think pasta should be paired to the sauce so shells would be used with something small like peas whereas tagliatelle would have a runny sauce to coat it etc. Please remember food security isn't just about cost or waste, important though they are, but also shortages so don't let your stock run down too much. Thank you for sharing.

Very very true! We are going to be taking a cupboard stock take at the end of next week to make sure necessities are always stocked xxx

Whenever you make red lentils: make sure you clean them and rinse them more than once, like you would do with rice before boiling them, sometimes they have small stones in them and this is our go to most popluler Asian, traditional dish. If you would like me to give you our recipe, please feel free to give me your email!
