She sang a few Lazarus songs in her concert, I really wish she did some Beetlejuice too

I suppose she wanted to sing Lazarus songs because they means a lot to her because of David and she didn't sing Beetlejuice because maybe she's got tired of them

@@marysattic yeah, looks like she doesn't want to mention nor do anything with it anymore.

@@Margo___ i mean she did it for YEARS and a lot of the fandom wasn't very kind to her, it's pretty normal to want to distance herself from it esp if she's leaning more towards a rock/pop music career than musical theater

@@MollyLikovich I get what ur saying but don't get me wrong, I think for actors who had a hit show it will always be embedded in them as people's recall. And people will always ask question about that so she can't forever avoid it. About her music career, I've heard she's in talks for Song Of Bernadette musical which is great seeing her with a lot of work lately.

Isn't there being some sort of copyright on Beetlejuice songs or some legal reason why she couldn't do them at the concert because the show is still running the most likely reason why she did't sing Beetlejuice songs.

I love both renditions. One is obviously supposed to be Broadway Broadway with a perfectly clear voice and technique while this version is just her vibing to the song without having to perform it theatrically if that makes sense? She mentioned in one of her interviews that she wanted to keep the Lydia style in her voice when she composes her own songs or just in general singing but from what I hear (even though I'm not a vocal coach by ANY means) that stylistic choice doesn't effect her vocal chords in a bad way. She still has great sustained belts and her vibrato sounds so natural and healthy especially when she lifts her soft palette. I think what's important is to learn the healthy technique first and after that it's the singer's choice to alter it to another technique that might sound unhealthy. But tbh we can't know how it feels for her. I just personally feel like she's doing okay with this stylistic choice since she can still sing both ways

Is it bad to say I like the way she sang it on the Lazarus album 6 years ago better?

Of course not, you can prefer the version you want, nothing forces you to like the others 😊

her voice has grown a little more than when she was a teen, and her sense of style has changed, so it might be unfamiliar

I hope it’s not rude to say I don’t love this version. She’s adding too much punk to it, and that’s not what the song is supposed to have.
@The_Riss Жыл бұрын
it's a side effect of the evolution of her vocal style + some minor damage sustained from intensive broadway. this also looks like the closing song for that concert, there may be fatigue here that she's pushing through.

@@The_Riss yeah, you’re probably right. still don’t like it much though 😅
