Yo guys, today on @RenderRam I'm covering this new breakthrough in AI called Sora, so I decided to do a first impression video on the whole thing. Enjoy!

I can't tell if you're excited or scared. I feel you.

I don't think filmmaking is in problem (or Arch Viz animations), but, with its possibility to produce longer clips (up to one min long), this model is going to change TikTok, IG reels, and YT shorts forever.

I guess that my "funny" thumbnail text on my first AI video "Reality Is Merely An AI-lussion" will become an actual reality I mean... we all knew that... but what is a shocker every god damn time, is how fast it all happens.
@juliussaurus7 ай бұрын
That's why I'm scared. It's a really cool tool but imagine the harm people can do with this. Fake news will be on another level from now on.

As an older guy that left his trade to go into 3d Arch Viz, I'm very excited for using AI to aid my workflow while also being scared for my future job security....

I think we should be worried more about the social implications that this will have a real impact on, than taking anyone's job :D.
@koberko7 ай бұрын
Yeah, I'm not worried about these kinds of things taking my job; what I do is highly specific, and any AI can only assist me. But I'm worried about the effect this might have on social structure once fake videos start popping up left and right, and you can't trust anything online anymore. The line between AI and reality will become blurrier with each generation of AI tools. On one hand, fakers and fake news will gain more credibility, while real content and genuine news will lose credibility. We'll face situations where someone's reputation or career will be ruined by a fake video, while on the other hand, someone caught on video doing something illegal and deserving of punishment could simply deny it, claiming, 'That's not me; it's a fake video,' and people will believe them, especially in the case of popular celebrities or political figures.

Actually Sora generates those things in 3D and simulate physics. That's why it is so consistent.

The Future is Really Promising

Promising for governments who will want to mislead the masses... and artists without jobs.

I'm a bit surprised that your safety buffer is AI not being able to do 16 or 32 bit footage or 10 bit video. Why would that seem like a significant barrier? That seems trivial compared to the problems that they have already solved. I don't get it.
@RenderRam7 ай бұрын
Well in my tv commercial career, bit depth was crucial for client desires on color, image manipulation, and variety of requests that bend image trenendously. And the requests I’ve seen would seriously fail on 8bit image. (For example last minute change on changing color of the shirt from green to purple in a low light scenario) Part that I forgot to mention along with bit depth is having things in layers for the same reasons. In short, creating a good looking image is just a tip of the iceberg when it comes to making changes last minute where your project needs to be prepared for as many possible changes that might come. Maybe an isolated scenario on my end, but it left a mark on me when sh%t hits the fan :D

@@RenderRam I definitely get the importance of what you are saying. What I don't understand is why AI could not be made to work at a higher bit depth. I would think that it would be pushed to do that as soon as someone saw that it was commercially beneficial.

@@EbolaStew after talking to a friend who's into whole AI development thing about that, he said that training models would need to be trained on 16/32bit images, and that those models would be abnormally huge So I'm guessing "the world" is covering the majority who don't need it
@EbolaStew7 ай бұрын
@@RenderRam Ah. That makes sense. So, we may be saved by our niche status. For now. ;)

@@EbolaStewPlus Ai already require a shitload of gpu power to output images, imagine the requirements for high bit depth, i don't see those coming in any future if the whole idea it's to have an easy to use app catered towards average consumers. What really scare me it's the frightnening increase in quality and credibility of fake news, when average Joe can't even see that the singing dog it's fake, how could he possibly see the glitching hands under the dragon in the video? Imagine dictators creating fake videos of happy peoples cheering for him, or of a rival state slaughtering peoples, it would open scary scenarios for sure.

Not gonna lie - this continuity thing is scary and as you said, it all happens so fast. I still not see AI taking our jobs but, like adobe started it already in photoshop, an exciting tool for making our lifes easier... hopefully
