Soraki’s not only technically skilled, but brings an emotional component to his dance as well, one that touches people on another level beyond the technical skill. It’s like when you hear a song being sung well, it stirs you emotionally. The same with his dance. Let’s not blame it on bias and nationality come on. I don’t think it was as close as yall cut it out to be D Saroki I feel like his moves were more repetitive although he does display amazing technique. Waackxxxy displayed different pockets and showed elevation going down to the floor. Her hand movements were precise and clean. She had many musicality moments. Dance battles are not just about hitting all the beats there’s way more to it.

@@reign4245 Ye my bad, I didn't know what waacking was until shortly after commenting so I assumed it was locking due to both being so similar. Though Waackxxxy was more consistent than Soraki, I believe a big problem in her performance in this round is not feeling her movements. James Brown and funk in general is meant to be felt in a way she didn't display. While Soraki dances so well that you can feel the song even if you mute the video. Because of that, Soraki's few inconsistent moments/missed beats can be made up for in my opinion while I can't say the same for Waackxxxy. Though I might still be judging her by locking standards unconsciously since waacking is more for disco while locking is more for funk.

I came back here after seeing people disrespect waacking. But I already know these loud mouthed people are just wannabe dancers. They're not real dancers. If you can praise footworks, why can't you praise the arm works? This kind of motivation comes from the lack of knowledge on the dance and people saying this should NEVER watch any open style battles again and just stick to their preferred style of dance. Waackxxxy won because she got the vibe and groove of the song. It wasn't a technical decision 'cause what happens when you have two different style and tehnically great dancers, the judges would consider WHO DANCE TO THE MUSIC BEST? When I hear the music and look at the dance, who matched it better? Waackxxxy was not just hitting the fast beats, she was also utilizing the horn part PLUS the LYRICS. 0:46 gave her performance a soul and that changed everything. She looked like she really FEEL GOOD and I believed that for a second. Now Soraki is a great dancer. He is technically perfect. He was hitting those fast drums with his technique, but he was too focused on killing beats and instruments that he forgot the lyrical part. He may have slowed down towards the end to attempt hitting the lyrics, but the movement didn't make sense based on the lyrics. So it was taken against him.

Get real, that was a Waacking song at 146 bpm - it is challenging for any hip hop dancer to dance to. Different dance styles shine differently at different bpm. Waacking is often danced at 140 bpm, while Hip hop is typically danced at around 90 bpm. It would have been a fairer battle they had a second song at 90 bpm. I still consider them both to be my fav dancers and would prefer to enjoy them both rather than care about judges opinions.
