Sorcerer Tutorial (Outdated)

Ah it's a nice set to settle for. And this was pre 4.0. This set is still one of the best sets and it's in my opinion a must to get Kahrun or TF set if you are starting. Getting Blood Mark Gear is an option but i wouldn't recommend it to anyone not even to my worst enemy. This video is awsome and i honestly hope you make more parts. :)

I'd like to play my sorcerer after 3 years of a break from Aion... I last played shortly after the release of 2.0 and I'm level 55 with a gear that was not even very good back in that time (some Anuhart Stuff, Triroans Jewel, etc.) ... How long do you think it will take me to get back into business and get some good gear and get used to playing the sorc?

Sorcerer is likely one of the easiest classes in Aion, for both leveling and gear. Go for bloodmark gear if you want a relatively "fast" set. But if you can stand the wait, Kahrun is a decent PvE set in the meantime. There is also gear from Tiamat Stronghold which is really still one of the best PvE sets out there for sorc, if socketed right. So depending on how many people you play the game with on a regular basis, most of this stuff won't take you too terribly long to get (outside of Kahruns).

Would you recommend Balaur Seeker over Inferno?

I've found in my use of both skills that 75% of the time I tend to use balaur seeker over inferno. Since most instances include mobs that are of balaur origin, it seems to hit for higher damage. Even in PvP I've concluded it seems to hit harder.

Raksang is childs play, I will agree to that. I filmed the footage inside of Raksang just to show an example, although I have tanked the final boss on my sorc without trouble prior. But even in the new 4.0 content I still hear major complaints about sorcs who go in guns blazing, steal agro, and wipe the party. This is due to not giving the tank that necessary few seconds to throw out a few taunts. Thus I felt the need to add that segment in as a word of advice. It varies from person to person I suppose.

In the few seconds when he just said! "Do not nuke off the bat", he probably gave one of the best advises for Sorcs ever! The Sorcs job is quite simple. DPS - Nuke - Kill Fast. If you do that too fast you risk not only killing yourself, but also reseting the Boss or wiping your entire group. Our job becomes 10x more simple by just not DPS like crazy right at the start ahahah =P

I get what you're saying and I am sorry it wasn't on pace with a new player scenario. However I believe for brand spanking new players the best thing you can do is level up and learn your skills in real time. I know there are other videos out there that likely go into deeper detail like covering all skills one by one and both stigma builds in greater detail. Sadly, I just don't have time like I once did to go into every aspect of sorcs. Hopefully you'll find the video that works best for you at the moment.

ill just pick it up as i go along and chekc your vid out once im farther along a bit. can you tel me, is there much class customization or are the classes just cookie cutter, like you just get all the same spells when you level up and no kind of idividuality between builds? cos i like it when games have and in depth levleing up system where you can make unique builds like anarchy online/path of exile type thing (not to versed on newer mmos so cant make other comparisons in that regard :P)

For some reason youtube didn't send me an e-mail notification of a video reply nor did it show anything in my regular notifications O_o Glitchy site sometimes. To answer your question...yeah the classes are a bit cookie cutter unfortunately. Aion likes to advertise it as being super customizable with stigma builds but honestly they are limited. This is mostly because certain stigma's require you to have other stigma's equipped in order to even use, which causes limitations. I guess this was their answer to maintain "balance" but I always saw it as a cop out mechanic. However, in sorcs especially, some classes have a large array of skills so you can "customize" your rotations and figure out the best combination of skills for pve and pvp. But that is about as much as I can really tell you as far as that. There is a new game still in Alpha called Archeage which is supposed to be like Aion but with more things to do and customize.
