And on the personal side, I STILL haven't received my $60 refund that uber eats stole from me back in May from an order they never delivered for 6 hours that had no driver listed after the first one sat in a parking lot on the other end of town for an hour.

@legendarystuff69712 ай бұрын
@@TrioLOLGamers yes, it's functionally open source. You can use it commercially, fine tune it the way you want. The reason people say it's not open source is because there is a clause in the licence where if you have more than 700 million users/customers you have to contact meta to negotiate with them. Also not all the training data is available. I don't care about these though. The most important thing is if I want to use it today for any purpose, I can and you can too as long as you're not Google, Amazon or Microsoft. Fuck these companies anyway, I like this clause.

@@legendarystuff6971 if it is well documented (so you can edit that code easily) and you can use that code the way you want. Well that is Open Source. Can someone explain why people are still using Chrome when Google is pulling all this shit. Firefox is like, right there. Is there some killer feature I don't know about, or is it just market momentum.
@touma-san912 ай бұрын
Part of the problem is probably the fact that majority of the browsers uses Chromium as their engine so people might think they are changing to better browser when they are not, and it might not show in statistics properly if they use generic browser identifier for chrome/chromium. Not everyone knows for example that Opera and Brave are both using chromium-engine.
@Kyle-yn5hy2 ай бұрын
@@touma-san91 That doesn't really answer my question. Chrome is not Chromium, Chrome is just derived from Chromium, like Brave and Opera. Either way, users of alternative browsers derived from Chromium like Brave and Opera barely make up a fraction of web users. Current estimates put Chrome at around 64% market share for web browsers, which is then followed by Safari, Edge and finally Firefox. Safari and Edge make sense because they come pre-installed on MacOS/IOS and Windows respectively, but when users decide to install a third party browser, I just wonder why Chrome is still the most popular choice. In my experience, Firefox does everything Chrome does but doesn't exercise any hostility towards the user like their super controversial Manifest V3 changes. I'm guessing it is just years of brand recognition and market momentum, but I'm genuinely curious if Chrome has ANYTHING else going for it.

Oh, gee, it's almost like LITERALLY EVERONE who was aware of the previous AI winters knew that the current crop of algorithms would overpromise and underdeliver just like EVERY SINGLE PRIOR BATCH OF REVOLUTIONARY AI ALGORITHMS. If I didn't know any better, I'd think that ML "researchers" were intentionally ignoring 70 years of AI history. What's that? They are? Well I never!

Jeez, 70 years.. I didn't know that artificial intelligence was already pursued since the 50's. If that's even remotely true, I guess this whole hype train around it is nothing more than a pipe dream.
