I have a NIB 14900k, im waiting on my case to build. Its great news that i will have to neuter the chip in order to use it safely. Great job Intel, false advertising is the best case scenario for them. I bought the 'TOTL' chip for it to only be forcibly downgraded before i can even drop it in the socket.

It's not same-party-punch causing all of these chip problems, it's same-party-politics. DEI is killing everything it touches, because the workers are typically wholly unqualified for the jobs.

I used to feel that way *fervantly*, but allow me to make an argument... As a vet, there are programs in place to help get us up to speed after serving. We're behind the curve and out of touch with how to navigate the professional world. Generally speaking businesses are also completely incapable of evaluating what we bring to the table. Civies just don't get it, and that makes getting a decent job incredibley difficult. It leads to a lot of vets taking whatever they can get and leaving TONS of valuable skills unused, which hurts themselves, the GDP and everything in between. Those programs that help vets...are DEI. It shook me when someone explained it that way. I'm sure there's still room for criticism, but it's not all bad.

I think comparing the launch recall by AMD to the mess intel has is just bad reporting. AMD saw a QC issue with a recent chip launch and did a recall immediately. Intel has had an issue over 2 generation that is related to the microcode they gave board makers hut has tried to shift the blame for years and even at first denied the issue existed.

Intel saying this is a "microcode error" and "a patch is coming" is like Boeing saying "there is no problem with the 737 MAX" and "a software update will fix things". Is fundamentally confusing the physical system and the control system. "The patch" will won't fix oxidation issues. "The update" won't fix the fact that 737 MAX is a new plane and needs pilot recertification. With Boeing I'm sure it was beancounter stupidity. With Intel it must be engineering maliciousness. Or maybe the reverse.

Samsung updates auto blocker to block sideloading by default... Epic Games, instead of simply making a super simply tutorial on how to disable auto blocker on their download page, prefers to remove their games from the Galaxy Store.... Because somehow, that makes more sense ? Reduce the availability of your game (though who uses the galaxy store anyway) to be mad at something that isn't permanent and can be disabled without any issues...
