The mushroom on pizza moment hits me every time because it has layers; Steven saying "it's perfect" even though you know he doesn't like it. Steven accepting things as they are even if they aren't perfect or even good. It hurts because as much as it would be nice for him to have closure with his mom, he'll NEVER get that because she's gone. So he can only have closure with himself. Bittersweet reality, especially for many kids who have absent loved ones or ones that passed away.

I also feel its a callback to "youll learn to appreciate all forms of pizza" from greg. Because then, he was trying to understand the issues around ruby/sapphire, and getting caught in their drama he couldnt enjoy himself or this new strange pizza. In this he finally comes to terms that there are a lot of things and issues formed around him but he is not the one to solve them. So when offered something thats not to his usual taste hes now more open and accepting to go with the flow rather than fight the tide. He was also lonely, and his family showing up and comforting him even tho it isnt perfect meant more to him than the mountain of problems.

It was pretty real tho, as close as it could be. Remember the room takes information from what Rose knew (that's why she could represent humans in a shallow manner but Greg in a much more realistic manner, 'cause she knew him way more), hence it would be reasonable to assume the Rose we see in that room is as close as the real one as it could be, since who could know Rose more than Rose herself?

@@DeathKitta I don't thin so, 'cause if you remember, Greg was ultimately also pretty robotic, repetitive and unhuman like. On the other hand, Rose was super realistic, that's why I assume it based on the gem's experience (which stopped "working" once he became half human)

​@lumanianilin1198 my personal theory is similar to this; there are things that feel too realistic to be fake. When he says he thought about dying his hair pink a few times, instead of doing what he seems to want and saying he should, she says "there's nothing wrong with your hair. It's perfect just the way it is, like you..." that is something the room would never think to say, but is something rose would definitely say. Same with that final speech; saying something like "do you think what I said on that tape was a lie?" Would be something the room shouldn't know unless it knew about rose making the tape, and if it was just going on steven and his memories/thoughts of his mom, it wouldn't say that, it'd probably say something simple like "you know I love you, right?"

A truly fascinating pair Episodes. The New Crystal Gems, is something I wish we could’ve seen more of, ‘cause I find their dynamic intriguing, also have any of you heard of the Connie Swap AU, that pretty has Steven and the Core Crystal Gems be Swapped with Connie and the Original Homeworld Trio (which is what Peridot, Lapis and Jasper was referred to back in the day), it’s a pretty well done and interesting Story, highly recommend checking it out. As for Storm in the Room, it’s pretty much one of the most Emotional Episodes of the Series, that pretty much lines up everything that Steven is going through, a very good breakdown of Steven’s mental state, which we will see more of as the Show goes on. Also, Mushroom Pizza is one of the reasons why i like Mushrooms now, just felt like I had to say it, don’t know why🤔.

I always wonder if americans just have bad quality ingredients overall or maybe their pallett is just ruined because of all the processed stuff.
