@@lumanianilin1198 This is skipping ahead a lot but "you know who" tried to explain the value of human life but the Diamond's didn't care even for an opinion from someone they claimed to care about. And if that was it that would be one thing, but the Diamond's don't even care about their own, committing heinous cluster experiments. Subjugating the rest of the gems. They literally only care about themselves. And so it's not so much that they see humans like we see ants, they don't value *any* life apart from anything in their own image. The scale of their wretched crimes is one of the vastest I've ever seen in fiction. I've seen it pointed out that most fans don't think of this because the extent of the suffering they've caused is just that unimaginable. They're complete monsters.

Human zoos were totally a thing on Earth. During the colonial period , the colonial powers -- including the US -- took people from their homes and put them in zoos. Regarding bubbling all of the rose quartzes, I'll just note that collective punishment is considered a war crime under the Geneva Convention.

I think the actual reason theyre were all bubbled and threatened with shattering is because the chance one of them was rose quartz or if the other rose quartz would become the same as the one we know. Not that it makes it any better, but from a logical standpoint if you had a warrior that had a bunch of others look just like them and they all had the possible mentality she did, itd be a risk to have them around.

I freaking LOVE the moment they roasted Holly Blue Agate. Especially how smug Pearl was. They weren't doing rebel stuff for thousand years and we didn't see them do it except in Garnet's story, but here you just see how they are THE rebels of Gems, you are reminded they are THE CRYSTAL GEMS, ones that started a war with the Diamonds and shuttered one of them. It's a bummer we didn't get more rebel episodes with missions on Homeworld. From how naturally Pearl felt herself doing it again, it would have been super fun to see more of that, but alas.

These episodes give us an insight on how the other two diamonds are handling pink's loss (and yes you are right, there are four in total). Yellow seems to hurt a lot too, but unlike blue, she wants to destroy everything that reminds her of pink so she can move on easier. Meanwhile blue wants to hang on to pink's memory hence keeping the human zoo and bubbled rose quartz gems. Them both handling their grief differently also tells us a little more of their personalities: yellow diamond is all about physical strengh, and blue is emotional strengh Another cool detail is when yellow sings "what's the use of feeling blue?", her punctuation makes it "what's the use of feeling, blue?" instead, which again tells us that yellow sees no point in "feeling" and that it's better to just bury it and move on, a very clever play on words from Rebecca!

Pearl going savage on Holly Blue is one of my most favorite moments in this show. And omg, the way how holly blue treated pearl in the zoo arc goes to show more of the reason why pearl loved and followed rose more, because rose treated her as a equal, not as a object or slave. So seeing pearl finally going savage on Holly Blue is just freaking awesome, Holly Blue got burned by a "slave", a gem who is considered to be beneath her and it's just awesome 😄

I like how in “Adventures of Light Distortion,” Garnet says Pink Diamond made the Zoo to use human as trophies. Yet not five minutes into Holly Blue’s tour, she says _Blue Diamond_ made the zoo and kept it running out of “generosity” (read: shielding them from the Earth’s supposed downfall by the colonization, and then the Cluster when the colonization was stopped) and Blue’s actions seem to corroborate that reading (along with her keeping the Quartzes that were grown on Earth there). You start to wonder just how Gem history is constructed overall.

So this did confirm a casting within the Quartzes as Agates are also a type of Quartz but as confirmed they are made to be in charge of the Quartz soldiers and keeping them aligned. Also note that not just gem type determining personality, but also the gem placement factors in their personality as well. Holly's unique placement of being behind her head was hilariously represented with how oblivious she could be despite her gem being made for constant surveillence and quality control! This was a great Steven Bomb when it first aired as we got so much more lore and reveals than anticipated. If I remember right the next like 6 episodes calm down from that but are still fun to watch and sets us up for this season's finale Steven Bomb.

Adventures in Light Distortion is kind of how Steven's impetuous nature, which served to his benefit in stories like Marble Madness, came back to bite him in the ass. To Steven, Greg's not just his dad, but his mom as well...Greg was the one who comforted and protected Steven right from when Steven was a baby. The thought of losing Greg for Steven was like facing the possibility of being an orphan. There was a surprising number of fans who shipped Andy with Holly Blue Agate. "What's the use of feeling blue?" or "What's the use of feeling, Blue?" works both ways. I'd posted that if the flashback in The Answer took place after Pink Diamond was shattered, it's now more understandable why Blue Diamond tried to get our Ruby broken. Even though Ruby fusing with Sapphire that first time was inadvertent, it did blow up the plan to capture the notorious archtraitor Rose Quartz who had killed Blue's beloved Pink Diamond, so BD would definitely not be in her usual state of mind. Fans noted that all of the Rose Quartzes were in pink bubbles. So, who did the bubbling?

To answer your question about the space ship travel and how Greg would be ok: The ship can simulate gravity and atmosphere. So it is able to negate the forces put of those inside it when they travel at light speeds.

Agates are at the top of all Quartz warriors and they administrate all the other Quartz below them. Holly Blue is hierarchically above Jasper (as you can see how she commands Skinny who is a Jasper). Lapises have the job to terraform the planets that will serve as colonies, which is basically to change their environment to be more suitable for the gem race. That was the job of our Lapis before she was trapped in the mirror. Terraformer gems differ in the way they terraform. Lapises use water, but others use other elements. Remember that blowfish monster that appeared during the beach party? That's another terraformer gem that uses wind. And the Desert Glass that appeared on "Steven's Lion" appears to be another terraformer that uses sand (seen how it used sand to make many constructs).

I think each terraformers have specific use, for lapises they are more for making clean even cuts in the earth to administer the injectors for kindergartens, while the dessert glass is to maybe make temporary buildings for non high echelons gems, cause it is stated that bismuths are the ones who make the buildings like the sky arena for high ranking gems to enjoy

@@Kyss111 Yes, I know Bismuths are builders, but terraformers control the elements, like Lapises control water, the Desert Glass controls sand and the blowfish monster blows gusts of wind. They use their elemental control to terraform the planet and make it suitable for the gemkind. The Desert Glass was making temporary buildings, but you can't forget it was a corrupted gem stuck to a pillow (like when Lapis was in the mirror). The Desert Glass was perhaps building things because those were fragments of its corrupted memories manifesting through his elemental control.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER While the Crewniverse never directly described the Gem hierarchy other than the Diamonds (at the top) and Pearls (at the bottom, at least officially) on or off canon, one can come to certain conclusions: The Diamond Authority is at the very top, with White Diamond the first among supposed equals. The next level down are the Beryls: Hessonite, Emerald, Morganite, etc. Special rare Gems who have important functions at a Diamond's court are next: Sapphires, Aquamarines, Zircons, etc. Cryptocrystalline Quartzes are next: Agates and Jaspers. They keep the lower levels in line. Crystalline Quartzes, who function as high-grade soldiers: Amethysts, Citrines, Rose Quartzes. Technicals (the green Gems): First Nephrites in Era 1, then Peridots in Era 2. Gems who have special functions but not necessarily at a Diamond's court: Lapis Lazulis, Topazes, Bismuths. There was a theory that I find plausible that the Lapis Lazulis were at first the messengers for the Diamonds, but were made obsolete by technical advances like the Diamond Line; they were replaced at court by Aquamarines and repurposed for terraforming water-rich worlds like Earth. Worker Gems like Rubies. Pearls, although like any pet they can acquire a de facto high status by an owner's indulgence. A Gem made on Homeworld or one of the "better" colonies ranks higher than a Gem made on the accursed Earth; and a Gem made in the Prime Kindergarten is far more regarded than a Gem made in the Beta Kindergarten (with the sole exception of Jasper). If you emerged an Off-Color like our Amethyst, the Rutile twins, Padparadscha and the Betas, you were deemed garbage.

@@baraxor I think you should re-avaluate a bit the hierarchy. Indeed, Emerals come after Diamonds, but bellow them come the Garnets (Hessonite, Pyrope and Demantoid). Then come the Sapphires, Morganites, Aquamarines... (along with other gems with special talents, like artists and terraformers; it's hard to know the exact order). After them, we have the Topazes (the highest class of warriors), Nephrites (who are explorers) and Zircons (the lawyers). Then we have the Quartz soldiers (with Agates being on top). Bellow them, we have the working class gems (Peridots, Bismuths...) and the Ruby guards (note that rubies and sapphires are the same type of gems, but they are from different positions in the hierarchy). Then we have the gems that only serve to act as toys and/or servants, like Pearls (and another gem that will appear much later on). The gems that are even below Pearls are the Pebbels.

When Jasper attacked Garnet with the destabilizer she had no idea what it was and that’s how she lost. So that implies it’s a relatively new invention they didn’t have during the war and the years following. So when the Rose Quartz’s were “recalled” they’d have to do it the old fashioned way. 31:10 Something yall missed is that the lightspeed wasn't the problem. The lightspeed was fine when it was calibrated for specific gems, but when Steven hit the X, it turned off all calibration, causing the gems to not be accounted for and lag backwards. Steven shouldn't have been alive after that, but I'm assuming it was his gems regenerative properties that stopped him from turning into a literal pancake

I really liked this arc it was so interesting to explore a new place. Holly Blue agate was very entertaining. Seeing the diamonds again was great. The zoo was a very interesting location with all the bubbles rose quartz’s. Seeing some of the quartz soldiers from earth was cool. Seeing a different side to the diamonds was very interesting it’s just one of my favorite arcs of the show.

Oh man this is where I majorly start deviating with a large portion of the fanbase. What's the Use of Feeling Blue for me is a great song but it's a song about villains languishing in unearned sorrowful feelings, not a sympathetic portrait the way a lot of people took it. I was happy they were suffering, they deserved it lol. Finishing the show and knowing all I know actually only intensified those feelings.
