The reason why Anais isn’t there for being a girl, is 1) sexism in China prioritizing boys over girls to carry over the family name. 2) a population limit to have only 2 kids (like Americas “Nuclear family” back in the day), so Darwin and Gumballs doppelgänger is kept, but the youngest kid is gone.

Let’s see here… China made a direct, shameless copy series of Gumball called Miracle Star, to which Cartoon Network tried to copyright claim. However, the American government didn’t want to get involved with the clusterf*** that is the Chinese government, let alone something as trivial as non-political cartoons. As a result, Cartoon Network took the matter into their own hands and it’s amazing!😂 At the time, China had a 2-child policy that has since been increased slightly.

Okay so there are two reasons the copycat family didn’t have a daughter. 1. As there from a real Chinese knockoff the show only had two kids to abide by the two children law. 2.
