I've had one of these in my kitchen for about 9 months now, I really like it - our main (ceramic) hob is a bit rubbish and I'd been keen to get a induction burner. The app temp control is pretty accurate, but does have a weird gap between 80c and 110c - so holding something at 90c for a time (eg heat treating milk for making yoghurt) just has to be done manually adjusting the power, not a big deal really. Temp resolution is in 5c gradients which is alright for the price I guess. The app isn't that great, wish you could manually do the temp mode on the dial control. For something like using it for sous vide, getting a notification when the timer is up is sorta handy. Otherwise it's a solid, really thin induction burner and the price is pretty good too.

@@mollymauktealeafCompletely agree. I have multiple appliances that have full functionally within the appliance itself that are accompanied by an app that simply gives me more information if I so desire; eg toothbrush, air filter etc. It's when complete functionality is contained with an app for a discrete appliance that I have the issue, as there just doesn't seem to be any regulations or requirements to continue an app and even with the current interest of 'right of to repair' in many geographical locations, if an appliance doesn't work without the software then it's forever delegated to expensive land waste and a costly mistake on the consumer (eg I've been burned a couple of times now - which is why it's a simple no for me).

It is also fantastic at searing, you can set the temperature to the perfect Maillard zone 140-165°C and it browns beautifully without going over into the burning temperatures. The grilled cheese was fantastic. As an extra hob with the extra precision, it is great. I bought it as I hate cooking on electric, but want to move away from gas… so this was primarily to see how I got on with induction. I love it and plan to go that route on my main hob.

If you're cooking something that wants you to get milk to just below a boil, being able to set your desired temperature to 97C would be a great help. Or if you're making something like cacio e pepe, or a bearnaise sauce where you don't want the temperature to go above a certain level, this type of function would be a god send.

Unfortunately, by making you download an app they get your info and can sell it on, that's why often the cheapest things might have an app attached to them. I have a friend that needed to get a new clothes washer on a budget and ended up getting a "smart washer" with an app because it was the cheapest. In future please change the wake word to something other than alexa, as it set off all of our devices at home

I like that hob, it's so small I could put it anywhere; I also like the precision temp control, a lot.

I was so excited for the steam box lunchbox…how sad. I do hope they make a mach 2. The burner is very cool. Another use might be if one’s stovetop is failing, and one cannot afford to replace it just yet. It seems a very nice transition unit, and it’s slimline profile make it a great choice, as dealing with it afterwards would not be a challenge.🤗

So much App Controlled garbage. An induction cooktop that requires an app is one iOS or Android update after the company goes under away from being a chunk of unusable ewaste

Would love to see you do more with the induction hob, like can it be used as a 'Sous chef' using custom presets?

Please please don't say Alexa. Actually joke's on you because my Fire TV stopped your video when I tried to get her to stop. Not worth restarting it. You should know better.

I had to watch the first one about four times. Laughing so hard had tears in my eyes and couldn't see the screen.

My favourite part(s) of the video was when my speaker in the hallway started playing Heart London & then Classic FM. Cheers lads 😂

Watching Jamie not eating the steak was the best part!!! Love him!!!

Totally impressed with that induction hob. I have always been a fan of this technology since watching Anton Mossiman work wonders with it. The ability to properly sous vide and simmer tremblant is so important. I'll order one now and send the bill to ebbers if it is not good.

"One pot to rule them all" -- The Hubbitt -- I have noticed that you don't really use any heat visualizing aps nor gadgets. Certainly someone makes one to see the external temp of a cooked thingie and if it has any cold spots.

Great stuuf boys! Love your show and have not been disappointed with anything I have seen! Question, have you ever tested and rated pasta machines? I'm in the market for one and would LOVE to see you guys run through about 5-10 machines,(manual and automatic/electric) and then, as you go comment and rate each one. Thank you for all you so and the work you put into the show and the pain you endure at times! Cheers and stay well and safe!

I'm going back through all of the pass it on videos. It's a literal marathon 😂 would be awesome to have one with Kush in, would be hilarious!

A video on smart gadgets with Jamie, and my first thought was "where is the steak?" Shame about the steamer lunch box not doing the full job and being way too expensive, I could see that being helpful to some people. Very intrigued by the induction hob. Not sure if there is a place for that in my kitchen, but I see potential there.

On the Griddle Pan, is the thermometer in the handle so the probe reaches down into the body of the pan to tell you the actual pan has reached temp? That would make more obvious sense for putting it in there surely? Being able to take it out so you can check the core of the food would be an added bonus.

I’m not even all the way through and already wheezing laughing 😂😂 Jamie being peak dad, Ebbers being defeated by farting AI… it was worth the battle with the Alexa for this 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Being a fan of induction cooking and induction hobs, this seems excellent if it has such great range in precision temperatures available. Two or three of these would totally replace a cook top! And as Evers said, they’re cheaper than an inbuilt induction hob!

I enjoyed the video, but the only one I would consider is the hob, as I live full time in an RV and an extra hob might be nice and it doesn't take up a lot of room.
