I actually think Moana is a Hufflepuff. She is fiercely loyal to everyone on her island. Even though the ocean calls her, and she wants to go so bad, she knows it’s not what’s best for the island so she stays. she only follows that call when it’s to save everyone and everything she loves.

My humble opinion of villains in Hogwarts .(I put so much effort here pls read): Ravenclaw: Gothel, Yzma, Ursula, Cruella, Maleficent, Lady Tremaine. (Reason: they are methodical and creative with their ploys, while yes ambition is a big motivator the way they carry out their ambition is what sets them as ravenclaws. They think things through and are driven mainly by self-centered urges be that revenge or self-preservation, a very ravenclaw trait as they can often be lost in their own worlds/minds) Gryfindoor: Gaston, Queen of hearts (reason: impulsive, act first ask questions never, believe it’s their way or the highway, self-righteous) Hufflepuff: LeFou (loyal) Slytherin: Scar, Doctor Facillier, Radcliffe, Jafar. (Driven by ambition in future goals. Main goal is not driven or influenced by others, it is entirely due to their goals and they are willing to do anything to achieve that goal. Power hungry)

For your Slytherin reasoning, I would definitely still put Ursula in Slytherin. Her charm and charisma just screams Slytherin to me, and her motivation ultimately comes down to the desire to rule the oceans and get revenge on Triton in the process. Sounds a lot like a certain Tom Riddle to me. Plus she has pet eels which are basically the snakes of the ocean. And her garden of souls that she has captured? I mean...

The issue with putting bad characters in Slytherin is that it reinforces the negative connotation. Moana's ambition reads totally Slytherin to me, and Maui's blind pigheaded nature reads Gryffindor. Like, Gryffindors are often short sighted in their decisions and very impetuous. Slytherins are calculated and loyal, but know their limits. Gryffindors push that limit. 💁

Ooh some of these are hard! But I really think Rapunzel is more Gryffindor than Hufflepuff. I just feel very connected to her as a character bc I feel we are very similar, and I’ve never gotten anything but Gryffindor. Of course that doesn’t automatically make her Gryffindor, but I’ve always thought it was the obvious choice.

Maria Fernanda I feel like Rapunzel fits most in Ravenclaw. She’s creative and inquisitive, always looking to try something new and gain new experiences. When she sees the lanterns she doesn’t just want to see them cause their cool, she wants to KNOW what they are and what they mean. Also with all those creative skills she’s racked up over the years how could she not be a ravenclaw.

I think Judy Hopps is a Gryffindor, not Hufflepuff. Gryffindor's have the "rising from the ashes" trait that she definitely has. She's also told her entire life that she'll never accomplish her dreams, yet she makes them happen. I guess I can see how that would be "hard work" (so Hufflepuff) but I see everything that she did more as bravery and determination.

RAPUNZEL IS A SLYTHERIN AND I'LL STAN THIS TO THE END OF TIME! I actually think she's least Hufflepuff. If she were a Hufflepuff, she'd never have gone against her mother's word and left her tower. Her Gryffindor traits are that she was brave enough to leave and Ravenclaw that she's so desperate to learn more about the world. To me, she's a Slytherin. Her biggest ambition is to see the lanterns and she'll do anything to make that happen (leave her tower, betray her mother and blackmail Flynn to get her there). Oh yeah, and blackmailing Flynn? Definitely not a Hufflepuff trait! That has Slytherin written all over it!
