Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds The personal creation of Muichiro Tokito. A technique in which the user drastically changes the tempo of their movement to disorient their enemy. When the user shows themselves, they will appear to be moving slowly, but when they hide, the user moves in the blink of an eye to the point where their stark fluctuations in speed makes them appear as if they are hidden within a thick cloud of mist.

Here's a backstory for Gyokko if you are interested! It's never mentioned in the manga, only in the manuals. "In the past, Managi lived alone on the outskirts of a fisherman village. His parents had passed away from a drowning incident, something that he was fascinated by and found beautiful when he saw their bodies. He was known for collecting fish carcasses, among other strange activities that led him to be disliked by others and kept their distance from him. At one point, a child approached and teased him, causing him to lash out and murder the child by stuffing them in a jar. The child's parents had found out and in a fit of rage, proceeded to stab Managi and left him to die. He was eventually approached by Muzan Kibutsuji and became his minion, turning into the demon Gyokko that later became Upper Rank Five. Since then, he would prey on the flesh of humans, specifically children, and modify his body to his very own liking. Gyokko is Muzan's favorite Upper Rank, primarily because his ornate pots can sell for a high price."

It's interesting to me that most demons in the series are shown to have tragic backstories. They met a horrible fate, were turned into demons and are forced to continue living as a demon with their past morals warped for the worse. But the upper rank demons were monsters to begin with, and were saved and given permission to continue to wreak havoc as demons.

This episode just continued to make Muichiro one of my favorite characters outside of the main cast being Tanjiro/Nezuko especially considering he wasn't even on my top favorite before all his backstory & his growth as a character. Of coarse the previous episode made me like him more, but seeing him buff up in power and seeing his moves was amazing! Now we get some tease of Mitsuri! Absolutely love her character too, but have always liked her. Looking forward your reactions to the next episode!

in my POV Gyokko's Final form is his weaker form he has bigger arms and can punch and move really fast but he can no longer teleport between the pot because he is already outside the pot . in his pot mode he can teleport from pot to pot and muichiro is having a hard time hitting him

I feel the reason Muichiro had massive character growth is because unlike the other Hashira, he is a child, meaning he has much more room to grow not only in power but as a person. Obviously, it's not like you stop growing as an adult, but it's not as prevalent as in kids as they're still developing. I mean, Muichiro is 14 and that is around the time uou start developing into who you are it just so happened. Muichiro had to find who he is by remembering who he was, and he sort of combined his past self with the person who he was when he couldn't remember, growing not regressing back to who he was but finding a balance. And if you couldn't tell Muichiro is my favourite 😅.

Not gonna lie, Ufotable kinda shot itself in the foot with this fight. The climax of the fight is pretty much the same as the manga, which ironically is why it feels less great than the ones before like against Gyutaro, since Ufotable usually upscaled the fights more.

While this season is still great in animation and adaptation terms, it's not at the level of the last one, which a shame bc with every new sequel it used to get better (season 1, the movie, season 2), it is kinda obvious they were trying to stretch it and didn't pay too much attention to it bc they were already working on the infinity castle movies by that time, which is the arc they want the best animation ever to be used in.

Was Tengen just really weak, Muichiro just that strong, or was Gyutaro stronger than that loser Gykko but too complacent with his sister to bother challenging him for his rank? 🤔
@themonarch620 Жыл бұрын
To be short. Muichiro is strong because he has the demon slayer mark.
@777MangaKing7771 Жыл бұрын
Tengen implied Muichiro only took a month to reach Hashira rank. Plus he got those markings like Tanjiro did so that also probably boosted his power even more.
@psydrone8 Жыл бұрын
Muichiro is a prodigy with a secret bloodline, and the mark makes you exponentially powerful.
@logancairns7043 Жыл бұрын
Everyone seems to forget the mark. Let me put it this way: Without the mark, Muichiro is one of the weakest Hashira. Sure he has a lot of potential, but he’s young, has a small body, and has barely any training. Muichiro WITH the mark is one of the strongest Hashira. In fact it’s debatable that he’s THE strongest, until another Hashira gets their own mark. The mark is STRONG. If Tengen got a mark, he’d wipe the floor with Gyutaro in Daki in half the time of Muichiro VS Gyokko. Remgiku with a mark would actually make Akaza need to go near full power to kill him (though Rengoku would still lose of course). Gyokko isn’t weak. Tengen isn’t weak. The mark is just fucking busted.
@LauraLovesHugs Жыл бұрын
muichiro is a prodigy beyond basically all others and he trains himself half to death to reach his potential AND he got the demon slayer mark. gyokko also was being stupid and arrogant the whole time which made him let his guard down and die like an idiot without actually using his very powerful attacks and very fast speed. he failed to utilize his own potential due to his flawed mindset, kinda like muichiro before his emotional arc.
@arneshpal7702 Жыл бұрын
Gyokko should've been used better tbh
@randomthorn9286 Жыл бұрын
I do really dislike how easy it is for Muichiro, it is very unsatisfying and reflects poorly on the previous fights. It puts the show in bad position where they have to convince me that the demons are scary again, which is sad because they were in such a good position before this episode. I have been in Demon Slayer's corner for most things as I do genuinely enjoy the show but this fight just did not do it for me
@BayesianBeing Жыл бұрын
I agree. Daki&Gyutaro were genuinely terrifying last season, and that was one of my favorite parts about it. The upper moons being stronger than the hashira sounded very exciting to me, but now these marks basically level the playing field. With the upper moons probably becoming the norm, i'm not sure if any of them will be as scary as the previous duo. I wish the story was longer and the upper moon encounters more sparse and special, but oh well. The author wanted to finish it I guess.
@slobertooth1358 Жыл бұрын
@BayesianIntelligence Don't worry, the marks do not trivialize fights going forward and not everyone gets them. The marks honestly just help you give a bit of an edge in battle going forward, but upper 1-3 will be hype

@@BayesianBeingTrust me, the mark just give a great boost, but against the top 3 upper ranks and Muzan, it's not enough alone.

Gyokko's fight was just poorly written, and Gyuutaro's is just one of the best in the show/manga overall. But there are some battles in the future that will give you again this sensation of despair again. Not all tho, but thats just because Daki and Gyuutaro were very well written
@natalimoina Жыл бұрын
It shouldn't make you feel that way. Muichiro was bodied instantly by Muichiro earlier in the arc, it's very clear that the demon slayer mark is what is making such a huge difference here.
