The reason why the attack reflection stuff doesn't really appear again is because in most of the fights, most of Giorno's opponents are trying to attack Giorno or his friends, not his creations, which is the smart choice even if Gold Experience didn't have the redirection ability. Really, Gold Experience is more of a utility stand rather than an offensive one.

But regardless of its connection to the other parts, 5 still manages to be one of the best parts due to the story and cast, imo. It’s also really nice that it cleared up a lot of stuff regarding the arrow, the Stardust Crusaders’ fates, and what Dio was doing before part 3. I’m just glad they’re enjoying the story elements as they watch

Wouldn't that have been badass though. Consider this alternate Part 5: Giorno Giovanna, son of DIO, only ever had to wishes in his life; to help people and to discover his past. To this end, he seeks the life of crime, for Italy in JJBAverse is corrupt, and the only true justice comes from Gang-stars with hearts of gold. With this in mind, the story of Vento Aureo continues its opening art. We then introduce Trish. In this version, she seeks knowledge of what happened to her father, and sought Passione for that reason. She is sent to work under Team Bucciarati under the Boss' orders. As she joins, however, a turf war starts between the sects of Passione. In particular, La Squadra squares off against Team Bucciarati. As the two teams fight, the leader of La Squadra, Risotto, realises that this is a cleansing. The Boss has pit the two squads against each other to tie up lose threads; La Squadra for Gelato and Sorbet's search for his identity, Team Bucciarati for Bruno's not-so-subtle defiance of getting drugs off of his territory, and Trish for seeking her father, who was the original founder of Passione. Queue exposition. Point 1: Trish's father, in this case Vinegar Doppio (Not a split personality of Diavolo, just a powerful Stand User seeking to aid Italy's impoverished lower class by using the criminal underworld). He was dethroned by the new Diavolo (Giorno's brother, in this case). Point 2: Diavolo is the reason why Passione changed from what Bruno thought upon registration (a righteous organization) to what it is (another powerful gang). Diavolo uses the drug trade to get cash, which he uses to gain power and expand his influence. Point 3: Polnareff was the one to inform the Speedwagon Foundation about the chance of a son of DIO existing. He attempted to help Doppio, but lost to Diavolo's King Crimson. With Polnareff now in the mix, the story returns to how it originally was. Team Bruno fights against The Boss's elite guards. Because this is fan fiction, we could have Fugo stay with the equaling factor being the Drug Squad from PHF. Either way, eventually Diavolo kills Polnareff, the Chariot Requiem Arc plays out, Giorno unlocks GER and defeats Diavolo. For final notes, Diavolo in this verse was born with the opposite phenotype as Giorno; he starts blond then turns into a bluenette (Ala Jonathan). Diavolo becomes a Jonathan with DIO's personality and evil, whereas Giorno is a DIO with Jonathan's personality and righteousness. Furthermore, in this verse, both Diavolo and Giorno are products of DIO, in the same way that the Devil and Jesus are both products of God (The Devil being his first great creation, and Jesus being the Son of God).

I love hearing your thoughts on Giorno (aka GioGio, aka T-shirt Silhouette #3), especially trying to piece together the family tree. He's been criticized for being somewhat bland, but most of that boils down to a) the rest of the main group is amazing, and b) he's very reserved compared to the previous JoJo's. The ultimate thing to remember is that he's the son of both Dio and Jonathan, so he takes aspects from each, which will be fun to see. This part's going to be a great watch. Next Episode: New OP! About the photo - they changed Giorno's photo of Dio in the anime, for some reason. It's a totally different but more normal looking photo in the manga.

SPQR is an abbreviation of Senatus Populusque Romanus (“The Roman Senate and People”). It’s a phrase referring to the republic government of ancient Rome. You’ll find ‘SPQR’ on a bunch of ancient Roman things, eg currency and documents. They’re of course in Italy, so that’s probably the reason Luca has it on his shovel.

In japanese, Jo, Jyo and Gio is written the same way, you can listen to it when Dio shouts "JYOOJYOOOO", it really just a difference to us, westerners, with our "Gio" as a mark of italian names, but in a blind fan translation, you could find a "Jorno" without it being wrong...
