at 19:20 that was a poor translation. What Smile said to Kong, is that he didn't want to play because the match would end in defeat, to which Kong replied "whose defeat?!"

They're already falling for narrative tricks lmao. Jacob already fodderised Peco.
@yuzutarte6 жыл бұрын
Peco said "Natsui Atsu ga Kuruze". Usually "Atsui(hot) Natsu(summer) ga Kuruze(will come)". Peco's words are always unique and funny expressions for Japanese. really funny. but sometimes so impressive and unforgettable. the previous one is common wordplay in Japan, though. I hope translation is good enough to represent Peco's funny character. this anime(manga) has a lot of impressive words. but I'm not good at English. so I don't get English nuances. haha

The first character of TUKIMOTO[月本] name “月” means“moon” and the second letter “本” means book/the roots/the begining, HOSHINO's[星野] “星” means“star”and the second letter “野”a open field. The moon does not have its own light.but stars make their own light like the sun. I feel like their relationship is similar to such things. I love their friendship 🌙 & 🌟. hero appears!×3

I'm not a fan of the translation that's being used here, it seems like they are replacing all the sentences with more english phrases and I feel like that causes a loss of meaning on a few of the very carefully worded phrases that the show is trying to use. Still they are getting most of the points of the show so this reaction is fun to watch, I just feel like the misinformation could get in the way of the bros' crazy theory moments

I agree, like I commented last episde, they should change to the BD release, Commie's BD release has better subs too.

I'm sure some who have watched this have picked this up, especially for those who know their tokusatsu shows, but for everyone else's information the parts with the "hero" striking a pose and the thing on his belt spinning is a reference to Kamen Rider while the design of the "hero" himself is an Ultraman reference. I haven't seen this show yet until now but I'm supposing that the "the hero isn't coming" part means that Tsukimoto leaves action to others to "save" him from a situation he doesn't want to be in.

Ooohhh this is really cool! I would consider myself to be a massive ping pong the animation fan but I wouldn't have caught on to those references. Thank you!

I haven't completely finished this show myself yet and I've been struggling a bit with getting into it but I was hoping you guys would give me a bit of umph to it and it's interesting to hear you talk about it. As much as I've struggled I've continued watching it mainly out of intrigue as to kind of....what the point of it is going to be...so to speak. But also i was actually quite drawn in by a main character of a sports anime not....actually being very competitive or bothered about the sport in a sense? Because as much as it would be awesome to feel like Hinata about sport and winning I'm just not that person. I'm not competitive. I would not purposely lose as that would be in insult to my friends but i am more than happy to lose against a more competitive friend because it means more to them than it does to me..i'm getting the same amount of enjoyment i would be either way..winning won't make me loads happier. (I'm not completely passive i can get competitive against strangers online or computer generated characters and things 😂). I'm interested in your thoughts here about how it's going to progress in that it's going to be a....what is worth the risk of....feeling whatever he is avoiding feeling. Because I'm at a stuck point in agoraphobia attempted recovery where i can STRONGLY relate to that. I've not so much a problem with interacting with people but in my own way I don't want to exist in this low level state of life I'm currently in but what is it going to take for me to be willing to risk the anxiety and feelings I'm so afraid of? I currently don't know. Anyway I'll shut up snd watch the rest of the discussion now I've brain dumped😂

Good thing it's only 11 episode, just 4 hours to finish everything. That's the main selling point. At Least if you still not high on it by the end, you won't waste much time compared to other animes. There are a handful of baseball animes that are highly praised. Each of them tells different moral values, even if it's the same sports. The POV not always have to be about winning or losing.
@JeM1301776 жыл бұрын
@@HakeemRDaud yeahh exactly like I'm interested enough that I'd sit through 11 episodes it's not asking me to watch 80 or something so that's fine haha!
@Killerqueen20006 жыл бұрын
if you can't finish it then just stick to shounen. its probably more suited for you. diamond no ace, slam dunk, major, are good choices after haikyuu. Series like Ping pong and Ashita no joe are more about life stories than about the actual sport. Winning a game is not the point either. the sport is just a tool for growth of the characters as a person
@JeM1301776 жыл бұрын
@@Killerqueen2000 I'm..not sure you understood my response at all. Did you see that i mentioned Hinata and assume i wasn't interested because it's not like Haikyuu? 😅 It's nothing to do with the fact it's not blindly focused on the sport hahah I've watched plenty of different anime. It's gotta be about the characters for me. Kuroko No Basket for example bored me to death. Didn't give a crap if they won or not LOL. I was saying it was an interesting thing that they'd got a "sports" MC not competitive because i can relate to that. I don't particularly care about the ping pong aspect yet either for this show. But i do want to finish it as i say it's interesting. It's just not massively drawn me in as a whole yet :)
@Killerqueen20006 жыл бұрын
@@JeM130177 i was just wondering if you got the symbolism in the series so far otherwise i don't know how it didn't draw you. maybe because of the non shounen characters and its less exciting?
