regarding the discussion of ouken. I was under the impression with what the anime said and showed that oukens dad, who was essentially a god, had 3 demigod children who were special in their own 3 special ways. desha the king got his fathers magic. despa the prince while not getting magic or strength, got a special understanding and intellect and perception making him essentially the smart one. and ouken the knight gained superhuman strength FIRST and got immortality when he hit 25 prime of his life. no sense in becoming an unaging immortal at birth. a forever baby doesn't seem like it would be able to live life very well, but forever 25 makes more sense overall as a demigod how i understood the portrayal of oukens acquisition of immortality was that. 1. it was always meant to happen for him but in his absolute prime. 2. the only thing his father had to do with it was literally being his father, not some curse, same reason desha has magic. however how i also see this is. ouken saw himself as basically a normal human with just some advanced strength and expected to live his life relatively normally, and so suddenly becoming immortal forcefully shifted his worldview and perception of everything and he could not handle it losing himself in his panic and a paranoia till he broke. basically he had a severe existential crisis within himself and went mad from it. faced with knowing any and every relationship he would ever have, he would outlive them, and the natural fear of death that normal humans have was going to go away because he couldn't die and many other values one places on being a normal human with a normal lifespan have been changed for him. all done very suddenly for his 25th birthday. regardless of his own will. this was my understanding of what was shown in this episode plus also attempting to read into his despair at learning he was no longer a normal mortal but now unable to die. he seemed pretty distraught about it to me. (personal note here: I feel if i were super humanly strong and suddenly became immortal at basically what is considered the peak of my life. i dont think i would be panicking about it like ouken until muuuch later on, buuut I'm fairly sure our values in life are drastically different sooo, not really a fair comparison to make)
