For an isekai anime with a big harem-esque cast featured on its promotional art and a dumb light novel name, this show has a surprisingly breezy atmosphere with very limited fan service.

@@FrizFroz I mean consider how in the first episode of ANY isekai how quickly the author/writer is eager to have a cute pin-up/poster waifu appear as soon as possible (sometimes upwards of the half the potential harem get introduced in the first episode). Post-reincarnation there wasn't a single girl let alone human character so far. Certainly sets the tone and expectation of the series.

Actually, aside for being reincarnated as a slime, this anime doesn't have any other weird spin or twist and played its story straight as isekai fantasy genre. It's just very well done and they're know what they're doing with the story. I personally think this anime is like what HeroAca is to battle shonen genre, and this is the isekai version of it.

You're saying that the series has no twist or turns only because you've not read the entire novels or else you wouldn't have said that!!!........if it adapts the entire story(highly unlikely as it would then turn into along running series then like naruto or one piece) you'll see there was a couple of twists even from the first episode and you just didn't/still don't know it yet!!!.......

@@yugoxgc The difference between these two series being- MHA is now considered in the big 3 of shounen manga and is one of the top mangas in general and it has been so for a solid 4-5 years now, whereas slime is just a seasonal anime that got popular recently and on top of that more than 50% of slime's fans are from the web novel/light novels and has been so since 2013 when the novels started yet it took so long to get one season and the manga of this series ranked 9th for the first time ever, before it was always in the range of 30-50.......so even if it has loads of content the anime can adapt for 4-5 more seasons like this, it all depends on the overall value it brings the studio and the creators.I hope this series gets turned into a long running series like MHA cause even with only 1 or 2 seasons most anime only watchers will not get to understand the real story and the values of many characters(like shizu, her value and imapct was fully made aware only gradually as the story progressed further and we learn more about her and the world and even by the last chapters we learn more new things and get the real twists in the story even from the 1st chapters that were unknown so far).

@@daipayandutta615 well idk.. Its really dice roll with anime adaptations. Zero no Tsukaima had 4 seasons with the 1-3 coming out anually while season 4 came out like 4 years after the 3rd. The Parasyte manga Ended nearly 20 years before its anime adaptation so who knows how it goes. I hope Slime get just one season when Goblin Slayer gets 2. Since that kinda makes it look like overblowing "controversy" is the way to go to sell your show

@@daipayandutta615 actually there isn't much twist because this is one of the few original series that sets the template for isekai with .hack and SAO being the proto isekai this was one of the first that set in an actual fantasy world with game mechanisms

All i can say is that you guys will like it. I have watched your videos for a while and i feel my tastes align with yours. This is a really chill lighthearted show that sometimes (very rarely) has like a scene of gore and it's sorta funny still, although when it wants to it gets super hype. The only "issue" with it is that each episode is so well put together that it feels too short even though it has the standard 24 minute format.

I have read the novel and i say you'll be surprised how serious the story has, there are numbers of events that a bowl of onions will suddenly pop in your tears. But I'll keep my words as my own opinion.

The reveal for Veldora was much more shocking in the manga since to him he thought it was just a normal man in his little slime mind the outline and such was a man with a question mark on his face then after getting the magic sense then it's revealed and I found that much more fun than how they did it here

I agree. They could of done it differently. Also a gripe I have with this adaption is... his voice. I know he is a slime and all, but man.. the voice I was imagining for him while reading the manga in my head was so wrong. So now it's just hard to hear the anime version.

Like sometimes I read theories on series I like and get way too fond of them, only for the reality to either disappoint me completely or just go in a good, but such a different direction I don't know how to feel for a while. Slime isekai has just been pure fun. It never takes itself too seriously, but can still deliver some pretty hard hitting character moments. The bright aesthetic is one of the best things it has gong for it.

I'm glad to see you guys enjoying this show so much. I don't think I've seen anyone laugh this much to this episode and it's great. The fact that you can't stop laughing while the main character is bleeding out and dying perfectly sets the mood of this show. Dying will? Delete my browser history. Sealed dragon? It's just a lonely tsundere. And the animation and expression of what he could (or couldn't) feel as a slime was wonderful. An explosion of color the moment he can process it.

You could also say it's a Final Fantasy reference following that reasoning. Hell, FFX literally has people called summoners who summon great warriors of the past turned guardian spirits who have a contract with the summoner. FFX came out years before Fate, following their logic fate is a reference to FFX. Hell, "Espers are magical beings in Final Fantasy VI. When killed, they transform into magicite that teach the party magic. Equipping magicite allows an esper to be summoned in battle. Espers are central to the plot, being enslaved by the Gestahlian Empire who extract their magic to fuel their rampage for world domination. " That's FFVI. ¬¬ Summoning mechanics are part of almost every single JRPG out there.

I don’t know if you guys have seen it but one of my hands down all time favorite series is called Space Brothers (uchuu kyoudai) it’s about a pair of brothers, ones an astronaut and the other tries to become one. It’s exciting, inspirational, lovely and so freaking cool! I feel like its criminally unheard of too. I try to tell everyone I can about it. Out of haikuu!!, hxh, and one peice, it’s probably the top dog in my book. For Caleb it’s an outstanding slice of life and for Jacob it’s brilliant story telling where the main anatagonist happens to only really be the main character himself and his own self doubt. Please please please treat yourself with this series one day if you can it’s awesome!!

I don’t know how I feel about this, while I love the show and the wn, I think they have the wrong expectations for it. I also don’t think it’s a good show for a discussion heavy channel to react to, and while I would absolutely recommend them to watch it in their own time, I believe forcing themselves to (over)react and discuss for the channel might ruin the experience a bit.
