I think what some people don't get is that for the most part there is no main plot. We get some nuggets here in there, but most of the story are just the lives of this family

Yeah, if and when the plot starts to be consistently high, that's a good sign we are in the endgame and we should all panic.

There's a spectrum for which a story can be plot focused. For some reason, culturally, we get exposed to an all-or-nothing dynamic where something is either all slice of life or all plot heavy. Exceptions, for anime especially, are usually the result of filler arcs, which by definition add nothing to the story. Spy x Family doesn't have filler in the same way because it's not filling for time, the content of the manga is being adapted rather faithfully. It just knows its own pace (slowburn) and has a clear goal (investment in, and time spent with, each member of the family). So it requires both slice of life and plot driven episodes with the latter being more intermittent. And that's fine. That fantastic really, because stories with a poorer understanding of their concept's pace would feel far more hollow.

In the manga, Yuri says somehing like "Knowledge is the whole enchillada" and Anya hears "Knowledge is a swole chihuahua" which is where that "no leash" imagery came from.

Greatest translation of a joke ever. In Japanese, it's "knowledge is power" which transliterates to "chi wa chikara," which Anya mishears as "Chihuahua chikara," or "Chihuahua power."

I really don't expect the plot to pick up anytime soon, we may get trickles here and there, but this definitely feels more like a slice of life show to me.

Sometimes people forget this is first and foremost a gag manga, a modern one with an overarching plot but a gag manga never the less

"Course correct, so we can get progression" ^You guys say that like you haven't realized that the main plot progression is the secondary aspect of the manga/show (with the primary being the family dynamic), and has been consistently the setup through every prior event. Hopefully you get that before the season's end, though it'll be funny even if by the 2nd season's end, you're still wanting more main plot-focused progression while missing that point :P

Daybreak's voice actor is the same as Gojo Satoru in Jutsu Kaisen, Hawks in My Hero Academia, and Kuroo in Haikyuu.

This episode was yet another great adaptaion of the manga! However, I do prefer the manga's official translation of Yuri and Anya's conversation😂 Yuri: A great man from long ago said it best, "Knowledge is power." That's what you need to understand if you want to be someone great. Knowledge is everything. It's the whole enchilada. Anya: Knowledge is...a swole chihuahua!?😨 Yuri: No! A whole...forget that part😑
